Recirculation valve

A recirculation valve for a pump having a regulator spool, a first resilient biasing member and a control valve. The first resilient biasing member biases the regulator spool in a first position in which flow of a liquid from a first port of the pump to a second port of the pump is prevented. The control valve controls the force required to move the regulator spool against the first resilient biasing member to a second position in which flow of the liquid from the first port to the second port is enabled.

A controllable motor drive acts between the body and an end of the spring remote from the plate. A flow meter is positioned downstream of the outlet. A controller is arranged to receive flow data from the flow meter and to control the motor drive for withdrawal of the remote end of the spring in accordance with flow rate measured by the flow meter. For an increase in demand flow, the plate is partially withdrawn to maintain downstream pressure on such increase and vice versa.

Thus, the user can check the amount of the gas at any time.

Methods and apparatus to control the actuation of regulators including a loading chamber are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a first pneumatic regulator including a loading chamber, the first pneumatic regulator to flow fluid toward a downstream process; a second pneumatic regulator coupled between the loading chamber and the downstream process, the second pneumatic regulator to control an actuation of the first pneumatic regulator during normal operation based on a pressure difference between a first pressure downstream of the first pneumatic regulator and a second pressure within the loading chamber; and a valve coupled between the loading chamber and the downstream process, the valve to control the actuation of the first pneumatic regulator during a shut-down event.

Pilot operated fluid regulators having a reset apparatus and related methods

Fluid regulator systems having reset apparatus and methods are described herein. A fluid regulator system includes a fluid regulator including a loading chamber and a supply chamber. The supply chamber is in fluid communication with a supply fluid. The system includes a first fluid control device having a loading inlet and a loading outlet. The loading inlet receives a loading fluid from a loading fluid source and the loading outlet is in fluid communication with the loading chamber. The first fluid control device controls fluid flow between the loading fluid source and the loading chamber. A second fluid control device includes a vent inlet and a vent outlet. The vent inlet is in fluid communication with the loading outlet and the loading chamber and the vent outlet is in fluid communication with a vent. The second fluid control device to control fluid flow between the loading chamber and the vent.

Electronically controlled pressure relief valve

A pressure relief comprises a valve body which includes an inlet bore that is connectable to a flow line, an outlet bore that is connectable to a vent line and a valve bore that extends to between the inlet and outlet bores. A valve member is slidably supported in the valve bore and is moveable between a closed position in which the fluid in the flow line is prevented from flowing from the inlet bore to the outlet bore and an open position in which the fluid in the flow line is permitted to flow from the inlet bore to the outlet bore. A solenoid operated pilot valve is connected to the valve body over the valve bore, and a fluid chamber is located in the pilot valve above the valve member. The fluid chamber is filled with a hydraulic fluid, and the hydraulic fluid in the fluid chamber is operatively engaged with the valve member. In a closed position of the pilot valve the hydraulic fluid is trapped in the fluid chamber to thereby prevent the valve member from moving from its closed position to its open position, and in an open position of the pilot valve the hydraulic fluid is released from the fluid chamber to thereby allow the valve member to move from its closed position to its open position.

A method of operation may include maintaining the safety valve in an open or closed position while sensing a physical property with the control system; communicating a signal corresponding to the sensed physical property to the control system; and automatically closing or opening the safety valve in response to a comparison of the sensed physical property to a pre-set condition.
