LINEAR SENSOR FOR REDUCTION COOKING AND BOIL DETECTION
A system includes at least a computing apparatus including a communication interface coupled or coupleable to a sensor in contact with a heatable liquid contained in a vessel, the sensor being configured to obtain measurements of a property of the liquid or the sensor; and a processor coupled to the communication interface and configured to receive the measurements of the property of the liquid or the sensor. The processor is programmed to at least determine a height of the liquid in the vessel, and in at least one instance oscillation of the height of the liquid in the vessel, from the measurements, determine an amplitude of the oscillation, determine a level of boil of the liquid from the amplitude of the oscillation and a viscosity of the liquid, and output an indication of the level of boil for display or control of the heat to which the liquid is subjected.

An air flow controller for an air cleaner and an air cleaner are provided. The air flow controller may include a fan, and a housing, the fan being provided in the housing and the housing being movable from an initial horizontal position in which the air flow controller directs air flow in a vertical direction to an inclined position in which the air flow controller directs air flow in a diagonal direction.

The efficient fan controller includes a microprocessor receiving at least one signal input from thermostat/equipment control terminals to control a fan relay to operate a system fan. The microprocessor monitors a thermostat call for cooling/heating duration and determines a variable fan-off delay based on the cooling/heating cycle duration, and at an end of a cooling/heating cycle energize the fan relay to operate the system fan for the variable fan-off delay. The fan controller avoids false thermostat activation signals and includes a common wire adapter to provide continuous power to a smart communicating thermostat and is configured to evaluate floating, zero, rectified, false positive and active input signals. The fan controller can be embodied on a forced-air-unit control board or thermostat. The fan controller installation methods ensure the system fan/blower operates at high speed for heating and cooling to improve thermal comfort, efficiency and satisfy the thermostat sooner to save energy.

A smart-home device includes a user interface including an electronic display having a first display mode and a second display mode, the first display mode generally requiring more power than said second display mode. The device also includes a processing system in operative communication with one or more environmental sensors for determining at least one environmental condition. The device additionally includes at least one sensor configured to detect a physical closeness of a user to the at least one sensor. The processing system may be configured to cause the electronic display to be in the first display mode when a closeness threshold has been exceeded, where the processing system is further configured to automatically adjust the closeness threshold based at least in part on a historical plurality of physical closeness events as detected by the at least one sensor.

THERMOSTATIC DEVICE AND SANITARY WATER SUPPLY AND/OR DISPENSING SYSTEM COMPRISING SUCH A THERMOSTATIC DEVICE
A thermostatic device for a pipeline of a sanitary water supply or dispensing system and including a temperature meter which detects the temperature of the sanitary water entering the thermostatic device, a flow regulator which regulates a rate of sanitary water exiting from the device, and a control unit. The flow regulator operates in a first operating mode and a second operating mode. The first operating mode is a steady-state operating mode. The second operating mode is a steady-state setting operating mode in which the flow rate of sanitary water leaving the thermostatic device is a minimum flow rate. The control unit is configured to acquire, receive and/or calculate a reference temperature and arrange the switching of the operating mode when the temperature meter detects a temperature of the sanitary water greater than the reference temperature.
