BRAKE PEDAL APPARATUS FOR A VEHICLE
A brake pedal apparatus for a vehicle has a pedal member manufactured by bending one steel plate. A pedal arm is forcibly rotated forwards by the pedal member being deformed in the event of crash or rear-end collision.
VEHICLE BRAKE SYSTEM
A vehicle brake system comprises an input device (21) attached to a bulkhead (15) separating a power unit room and a passenger compartment of the vehicle from each other, and including a part extending into the power unit room. A free end of the part of the input device extending into the power unit room is fitted with a protective member (70) defining a slanted surface (70a) opposing the power unit and slanting rearward as one moves in a prescribed lateral direction so that the input device is protected from a frontal impact. In particular, the slanted surface aligns with a corner part (83a) of the power unit (83).
Pedal stroke sensor attachment structure of automotive vehicle
A stroke sensor is arranged to be offset downward relative to a pedal rotational axis, and link arms which interlock the stroke sensor with a pedal are provided. The link arm includes an engaged portion (groove), with which an engaging portion provided on the side of the pedal is slidably engaged. Herein, the engaged portion (groove) is configured such that the engaging portion is slid vertically along the engaged portion (groove) by a specified length that is long enough to allow falling-off of the pedal.
DEFORMATION SUPPRESSING STRUCTURE OF VEHICLE
A deformation suppressing structure of a vehicle includes a dash panel separating a driving unit space for installing a weight component and a vehicle interior space for a passenger to ride, a brake component disposed inside the driving unit space and between the weight component and the dash panel to control a hydraulic pressure of a brake system, and a protecting member fixed to the dash panel and accommodating the brake component. The protecting member includes a guide surface configured such that a contact point at which the guide surface contacts the weight component changes during a backward movement of the weight component at the time of a collision of the vehicle, and a contacting portion arranged to contact the dash panel at a location above a fixing point at which the protecting member and the dash panel are fixed to each other and above the contact point.
Vehicle throttle and brake control system employing instinctive driver response for enhanced vehicle control
An improved motor vehicle speed and braking control system configured to maximize performance and response times for braking to a driver's instinctual physiological and psychological response to a perceived need to decelerate. The system provides a throttle pedal and brake pedal system configured to cause braking and an immediate change of engine power to idle once a user touches or causes activation of safety switches by a proximity or contact with them directly or with the brake pedal or a sliding of the throttle pedal depending on the configuration. Accidental acceleration during any attempt to brake is thereby eliminated by the system.

VEHICLE PEDAL DEVICE
The vehicle pedal device includes a pedal bracket fixed to a dash panel, a pedal, a lever bracket fixed to the dash panel, fixing means fixing the pedal bracket and the lever bracket with a predetermined holding force for fixed state, a rotating lever, a reinforcement for instrument panel, a lever rotator which is fixed to the reinforcement for instrument panel, and bracket deforming means fixed to the reinforcement for instrument panel. The bracket deforming means contacts with the pedal bracket to deform the pedal bracket downward when the pedal bracket moves rearward together with the dash panel. The rotating lever comprises a press portion which can press the fixing means or the pedal bracket downward with a force exceeding the holding force for fixed state when the rotating lever is rotated by the lever rotator.
Vehicle pedal device
A vehicle pedal device includes a main bracket with a pair of side plates supporting a pedal and attached to a dash panel, and a sub-bracket coupling a main bracket rear end and reinforcement. Where both ends of a clinching pin inserted through coupling holes formed in side plate rear ends are inserted through insertion holes of sub-bracket side plate portions, the both ends are axially clinchingly compressed, whereby the rear ends are clinchingly attached to the portions to be overlapped, inner peripheral edges of the coupling and insertion holes having a non-circular shape, distances from their centers circumferentially varying, the portions being extended outward to be separated further away from the side plates toward the panel, and the insertion holes formed in the portions having an elongated hole shape whose length allows the both ends protruding from the side plates to pass therethrough where the portions are extended outward.

Device for mounting a pedal of a motor vehicle
A device for mounting a pedal of a vehicle including a support on which the pedal is mounted by a principal rotary shaft and a shearing mechanism connected to a fixed bodywork element of the vehicle, the shearing mechanism configured to radially shear off the principal shaft in a case of a displacement of the support relative to the bodywork element, to detach the pedal from the support. A secondary shaft is fixed to the pedal and is configured to position the pedal, which has been sheared off, in a new operating position.
