WEARABLE SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELECTIVELY READING TEXT
20230012272 · 2023-01-12 ·

Systems and methods are disclosed for selectively reading text. A system may comprise an image capture device, an audio capture device, and a processor. The processor may be configured to receive images captured by the image capture device and audio signals captured by the audio capture device. The processor may analyze the image to identify text represented in the image; identify, based on the image, a structural element of the text; identify a request to read a first portion of the text associated with the structural element, the request being identified by at least one of analyzing the audio signals to detect a spoken request or detecting a gesture in the plurality of images; and present the first portion of text to the user of the wearable device.

CAMERA CONTROL USING SYSTEM SENSOR DATA

A method for using cameras in an augmented reality headset is provided. The method includes receiving a signal from a sensor mounted on a headset worn by a user, the signal being indicative of a user intention for capturing an image. The method also includes identifying the user intention for capturing the image, based on a model to classify the signal from the sensor according to the user intention, selecting a first image capturing device in the headset based on a specification of the first image capturing device and the user intention for capturing the image, and capturing the image with the first image capturing device. An augmented reality headset, a memory storing instructions, and a processor to execute the instructions to cause the augmented reality headset as above are also provided.

RELOCATION OF CONTENT ITEM TO MOTION PICTURE SEQUENCES AT MULTIPLE DEVICES

An electronic presentation system comprising: one or more computer processors operatively coupled to one or more computer memories storing a set of instructions for configuring the one or more computer processors to perform operations comprising: causing display of a motion picture image sequence (MPIS) captured at a first computing device, within display screens at multiple computing devices; causing display of first multiple content items, on the display screens of the multiple computing devices, separate from the MPIS; and based at least in part upon receiving at the presentation management system from the first computing device, first relocation information indicating a first content item, causing relocation of display of the of the first content item, to within the MPIS displayed at the multiple computing devices.

EDGE-TO-EDGE DISPLAY WITH A SENSOR REGION

A portable information handling system housing integrates a display having an edge-to-edge presentation of visual images at a housing portion with an inactive portion of a display panel along a perimeter of the display having a sensor region that provides access to underlying sensors through the display. A sealant and black matrix disposed in the inactive region limits illumination that escapes from an active region and provides an aesthetically appealing edge-to-edge appearance. Openings in the sealant and black matrix at the sensor locations provides access through the display, such as with index matching resin that passes illumination and a patterned covering of the black matrix.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND OPERATION CONTROL METHOD
20230011325 · 2023-01-12 ·

An electrical device and an operation control method are provided. The electronic device includes a touch module and a processor. The touch module includes a touchable region. The touchable region is divided into at least a first touchable region and a second touchable region. The first touchable region is configured to implement a first function. The second touchable region is configured to implement the first function and a second function. The processor is electrically connected to the touch module. When at least one first touch point is detected in the first touchable region, at least one second touch point is detected in the second touchable region, and the processor determines that a distance between the first touch point and the second touch point is within a predetermined distance, the second touchable region is switched to implementing the first function.

Systems and methods for simulating a sensation of expending effort in a virtual environment

The disclosed method may include detecting motion of a user, estimating, for the detected motion of the user, effort expended by the user in performing the motion, determining, based on the detected motion and the estimation of expended effort, a haptic profile for conveying to the user a physical sensation of expending the effort, and simulating a sensation of expending the effort by executing the haptic profile in at least one haptic device that is worn by the user. Various other methods, systems, and/or computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Hand pose estimation from stereo cameras

Systems and methods herein describe using a neural network to identify a first set of joint location coordinates and a second set of joint location coordinates and identifying a three-dimensional hand pose based on both the first and second sets of joint location coordinates.

Systems for leveraging device orientation to modify visual characteristics of edits
11550460 · 2023-01-10 · ·

Device orientation techniques and systems are described to modify visual characteristics of edits that support the ability of a computing device to modify visual characteristics of digital objects appearing in a user interface of a mobile device based on orientation of the computing device, itself. A user interaction, for instance, is detected in a user interface of a device. Responsive to the detected user interaction, a multiaxial orientation of the device is determined. In some examples, the orientation is translated into tilt data such as in the form of altitude and azimuth values. A relative amount is calculated based on the orientation. The relative amount is applied to a visual characteristic of an edit to a digital object. Once the relative amount is applied, the digital object having the relative amount applied is displayed in the user interface.

VIRTUAL REALITY ACTIVITIES FOR VARIOUS IMPAIRMENTS
20230038695 · 2023-02-09 ·

Systems and methods are provided for identifying a therapeutic VR activity or exercise for a subject/patient based on the subject's impairments, dynamically adjusting a VR activity for a patient, and identifying potential impairments based on a patient's performance in a VR activity. Patients may each have various physical, neurological, cognitive, and/or sensory impairments to be treated. Not all therapeutic activities may be appropriate for some patients and their impairments. A VR therapeutic activity platform may increase patient engagement and challenge patients at more appropriate times by better matching activities corresponding to a patient's impairments and dynamically adjusting each VR activity based on performance to offer a challenging and rewarding therapeutic experience.
