A method of controlling an information processing apparatus includes displaying an edit screen including an obtained image and a print range frame based on obtained print setting information, accepting an edit operation of arrangement of the image in the edit screen, generating image data based on an edited image, and transmitting the generated image data and the print setting information to the image forming apparatus as a print job. Where the image has been edited such that there is a region where the image is not arranged in the print range frame, combining processing in which a predetermined image is added in the region is performed and whereby image data including the image and predetermined image is generated, and where the image has been edited such that there is no region where the image is not arranged in the print range frame, the combining processing is not performed.

An example pull-print server includes a receiver to receive a print job including a document to be printed. Further, the pull-print server includes a controller to retrieve a job specification from the print job and determine a print resource to be reserved to print the document based on the retrieved job specification. Furthermore, the pull-print server includes a notification unit to notify an image forming apparatus to reserve the determined print resource to print the document. Further, the pull-print server includes a transmitter to transmit the document to the image forming apparatus to execute the print job using the reserved print resource in response to a reception of a pull-print request.

A method is disclosed for controlling at least one printer engine, the at least one printer engine having plural trays, each of the plural trays is aligned independently for imaging on a sheet of print medium. The method includes obtaining information according to first conditions in which each of the plural trays has been aligned, and the alignment of the each of plural trays is an adjustment to a position of a printable area on the sheet of print medium so that the printable area is centered on the sheet of print medium; obtaining information according to a second condition in which the at least one printer engine executes a print job; judging differences between each of the first conditions and the second condition; selecting a tray for the print job based on the judged differences; and instructing the print engine to execute the print job using the selected tray.

An apparatus is configured to obtain operating information related to an operation amount of an image forming apparatus through the communication circuit, obtain another operating information related to another operation amount of another image forming apparatus located in a same installation location at which the image forming apparatus is located, determine, based on the operating information and the another operating information, a replacement timing for replacing a consumable component used in the image forming apparatus, and output the replacement timing.

An information processing apparatus includes a first print medium database storing first print medium data items indicating attributes of a print medium. The information processing apparatus is coupled to a printing device including a second print medium database storing second print medium data items. The information processing apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to determine whether the first and second print medium databases are synchronized with each other; determine whether the second print medium data items stored in the second print medium database are supported in the information processing apparatus, when the first and second print medium databases are determined as not being synchronized with each other; and delete the first print medium data items stored in the first print medium database, and store, in the first print medium database, a second print medium data item determined as being supported.

The disclosure provides an approach for print redirection in a remote computing environment. Embodiments include receiving, on a remote device, a request to perform a printing task using a printing device associated with a client device. Embodiments include determining, on the remote device, that data associated with the request to perform the printing task exceeds a size threshold. Embodiments include generating, on the remote device, a plurality of data slices based on the data, wherein each respective data slice of the plurality of data slices comprises a respective subset of the data that does not exceed the size threshold. Embodiments include transmitting, from the remote device to the client device, the plurality of data slices as separate transmissions in separate time intervals along with information that allows the data to be reconstructed from the plurality of data slices for performing the printing task on the client device.

An image forming system includes a multifunction peripheral in which a setting related to image forming is variable and a plurality of mobile terminal devices that are communicable with the multifunction peripheral. The multifunction peripheral includes an adjustment unit and an image forming setting control unit. The adjustment unit adjusts, based on a plurality of requests for adjustment of the setting related to image forming, which have been received by a multifunction peripheral communication unit, the setting related to image forming. The image forming setting control unit performs control such that the setting related to image forming, which has been adjusted by the adjustment unit, is reflected.

Techniques are described for electronic content delivery. One method includes receiving information associated with the prescription order of a user account. In some cases, the information associated with the prescription order includes a medication identifier. The method may include performing a search using the medication identifier to obtain electronic medication documentation. The method may also include transmitting a sponsored content request that includes the medication identifier and receiving sponsored content information responsive to the sponsored content request. The method may further include determining that the user account has authorized communication via a user device and transmitting the electronic medication documentation and/or sponsored content information to the user device. In some examples, the method may include transmitting an indication that the electronic medication documentation and/or sponsored content information was transmitted to the user device.

An image forming apparatus supporting peer to peer (P2P) connection includes a print engine to perform a print operation; a first wireless interface to connect the image forming apparatus to an access point (AP) of an infrastructured network; a second wireless interface to connect the image forming apparatus to an external mobile device by P2P; a soft AP module to allow the image forming apparatus to perform as an AP when the image forming apparatus is P2P connected; a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server unit to allocate an internet protocol (IP) address to the mobile device that is P2P connected to the image forming apparatus; a soft AP activating unit to activate the soft AP module; and a control unit. If a discovery packet is received from the mobile device via P2P interface, the control unit is operable to control the image forming apparatus to process the discovery packet.

A printing system with at least one printer and at least two print servers is provided for printing a print job on a selected printer. The print job is stored on one of the print servers and print job information about the stored print job on the storing print server is shared between the print servers. In case of a request for print out the print job on the selected printer, the print job is sent from the storing print server to the selected printer based on the print job information.
