A method of supporting divided screen areas and a mobile terminal employing the same are disclosed. The method includes: generating input signals for one of sequentially and simultaneously activating a plurality of user functions; activating the user functions according to generated input signals; dividing a screen into divided screen areas that correspond to activated user functions; and outputting functional view areas associated with the activated user functions to the corresponding divided screen areas.

The techniques described herein improve user interface consistency when presenting a guest application running on a guest operating system as if it were a native application running on a host operating system. Specifically, window placement limitations imposed by the guest operating system are overcome by coordinating size and location between the guest application and a host proxy application. When the proxy application is confined to a single display, the size and location of the guest application and corresponding proxy application are synchronized. When the proxy application is moved or resized so as to be rendered on multiple displays, the application hosting engine decouples the location synchronization, leaving the guest application within a single display. Before being forwarded to the guest application, user interface events received by the proxy application are adjusted according to the different locations of the guest application and the proxy application.

A method for verifying the integrity, continuity, and availability (ICA) of information displayed on an uncertified display is disclosed. The method includes creating application data for display on the uncertified display device that includes a subliminal symbol that is periodically embedded in a few out of multiple tens of frames and that is camouflaged in the application data using steganography; transmitting the application data to the uncertified display device for display; receiving images of the application data displayed on the display screen; determining whether the subliminal symbol is detected in the captured images by extracting the symbol from the captured images and comparing the extracted symbol to an expected symbol; determining that the application data is not corrupted when the extracted symbol matches the expected symbol; and identifying a loss of ICA when the subliminal symbol is not detected or does not match the expected symbol.
