Apparatus and methods for controlling unmanned systems (UMSs), such as unmanned aircraft, are provided. A UMS can be provided that includes a physical computer, one or more auxiliary systems for the UMS, and a payload. The physical computer can execute software to cause the physical computer at least to instantiate a plurality of virtual computers that include a mission virtual computer and a payload virtual computer for: controlling the one or more auxiliary systems for the UMS using the mission virtual computer, communicating with the payload using the payload virtual computer, determining whether a software fault has occurred on one virtual computer of the plurality of virtual computers, and after determining that a software fault has occurred on one virtual computer of the plurality of virtual computers, preventing the software fault from causing a fault on a different virtual computer of the plurality of virtual computers.

Detecting and recovering from fatal storage errors

The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer readable media for identifying and responding to a panic condition on a storage system on a computing node. For example, systems disclosed herein may include establishing recovery instructions between a host system and a storage system in responding to a future instance of a panic condition. The storage system may provide an indication of a self-detected panic condition in a variety of ways. In response to identifying the panic condition, the host system may perform one or more recovery actions in accordance with recovery instructions accessible to the host system. This may include performing resets of specific components and reinitializing communication between the host system and storage system in less invasive ways than slower and more expensive conventional approaches for responding to panic conditions on computing nodes.

The present invention realizes a functional safety of a multiprocessor system without tightly coupling processor elements. When causing a plurality of processor elements to execute the same data processing and realizing a functional safety of the processor element, there is adopted a bus interface unit that performs control of performing safety measure processing when the non-coincidence of access requests issued from the processor elements has been fixed, and of starting access processing responding the access request when these access requests coincide with one another.

Black box data recorder for autonomous driving vehicle
11676431 · 2023-06-13 · ·

An improved black box data recorder for use with autonomous driving vehicles (AVD). In one embodiment, two cyclic buffers are provided to record vehicle sensors data. A first cyclic buffer records raw vehicle sensor data on a volatile memory, while a second cyclic buffer records the same vehicle sensor data, as compressed data, on a non-volatile memory. In a case of a collision or near collision, in one embodiment the buffers are flushed into a non-volatile (NV) storage for retrieval. As long as there is no power interruption, the raw vehicle sensor data will be accessible from the NV storage. If a power interruption occurs, the raw vehicle sensor data held in the volatile memory of the first cyclic buffer will be lost and only the compressed form of the vehicle sensor data from the second cyclic buffer will survive and be accessible.

Device and method for checking frames from a communication bus

In accordance with an embodiment, a method includes determining whether a frame received from a communication bus is encoded according to a particular communication protocol and is addressed to a particular electronic device; increasing a frame count value when the frame is encoded according to the particular communication protocol and is addressed to the particular electronic device based on the determination, wherein increasing the frame count value comprises increasing a count of a modular arithmetic counter circuit having a first bit depth, and the frame count value is constrained to a modulus value of the modular arithmetic counter circuit; setting a frame count status bit based on comparing the frame count value to threshold values, and transmitting a frame comprising the frame counter status bit over the communication bus, and resetting the frame count value at an end of a monitoring time interval.

Digital input edge detection with smart filtering algorithm

A method is provided that provides data analysis for sequence of events reporting in the operation of an industrial process. A digital filter and edge detector are provided that combines a method for excluding known invalid samples and a method for excluding samples taken while the input in the traveling range. The filtering method reduces the overhead on the CPU from managing the sequence of events machine and allows it to focus on performing safety functions.

CIRCUITS AND TECHNIQUES FOR ASSESSING AGING EFFECTS IN SEMICONDUCTOR CIRCUITS

In some examples, a method of operating a circuit may comprise performing a circuit function under normal conditions, performing the circuit function under aggravated conditions, predicting a potential future problem with the circuit function under the normal conditions based on an output of the circuit function under the aggravated conditions, and outputting a predictive alert based on predicting the potential future problem.

Omni-channel conversational application development system and method

A method, computer program product, and computing system for enabling a user to select a plurality of functional modules from a library of functional modules; and enabling the user to arrange the plurality of functional modules to form an omnichannel conversational application that includes a first channel and at least a second channel.

Buffer Checker for Task Processing Fault Detection
