Channel modulation for a memory device

Methods, systems, and devices for channel modulation for a memory device are described. A system may include a memory device and a host device coupled with the memory device. The system may be configured to communicate a first signal modulated using a first modulation scheme and communicate a second signal that is based on the first signal and that is modulated using a second modulation scheme. The first modulation scheme may include a first quantity of voltage levels that span a first range of voltages, and the second modulation scheme may include a second quantity of voltage levels that span a second range of voltages different than (e.g., smaller than) the first range of voltages. The first signal may include write data carried over a data channel, and the second signal may include error detection information based on the write data that is carried over an error detection channel.

Auto-provisioning and auto-installation of server SAN target

A computer system includes a BMC and a host of the BMC. The BMC redirect, through a BMC communication channel, a local media including a disk management tool to a host of the BMC as a particular drive. The host is a storage device connected to one or more storage drives. The disk management tool is configured to prepare a storage area of the one or more storage drives for installation of storage service on the host. The storage service managing a RDMA controller at the host. The BMC configures the host to boot from the particular drive. The BMC sends a first instruction to the host instructing the BMC to reboot. The BMC receives from the host a command for reading the disk management tool. The BMC sends the disk management tool to the host.

Modular Control Device with Redundant Channel Units

A head module for a modular control device includes redundant channel units, each including a processing unit and multiple failure revelation units. The head module includes a bus disconnection unit configured to shut down a communication bus. The failure revelation units are configured to monitor a state of the channel units. The processing units are configured to continuously stimulate the failure revelation units. At least one of the processing units is coupled to signal wires of the communication bus to provide a communication link to one or more peripheral modules of the modular control device. The failure revelation units are further configured to control, based on the stimulation and the monitoring, the bus disconnection unit.

Clock data recovery circuit

A clock data recovery circuit includes a deglitch filter circuit and a timer circuit. The deglitch filter circuit is configured to remove pulses of less than a predetermined duration from a data signal to produce a deglitched data signal. The timer circuit is coupled to the deglitch filter, and is configured to compare a duration of a pulse of the deglitched data signal to a threshold duration, and identify the pulse as representing a logic one based on the duration of the pulse exceeding the threshold duration.

Storage system and method for crash analysis

A storage system and method for crash analysis are provided. In one embodiment, a storage system comprises a memory and a controller. The controller is configured to store a crash log in a buffer in the controller; determine whether the storage system has crashed; and in response to determining that the storage system has crashed, send the crash log from the buffer in the controller to a host in communication with the storage system. Other embodiments are provided.

Providing application-specific storage by a storage system

Providing application-specific storage by a cloud-based storage system, including: identifying, for an application that utilizes resources within the cloud-based storage system, one or more characteristics associated with the application; and selecting, in dependence upon the one or more characteristics associated with the application and characteristics of resources within the cloud-based storage system, one or more resources within the cloud-based storage system to support the execution of the application, wherein at least a portion of a dataset associated with the application is stored as blocks within block storage resources in the cloud-based storage system and also stored as objects within object storage resources in the cloud-based storage system.

Validating requests based on stored vault information

A system includes a plurality of storage units, where one or more storage vaults is associated with the plurality of storage units and each storage vault of the one or more storage vaults represents a software-constructed grouping of storage units of the plurality of storage units. The software-constructed grouping of storage units stores encoded data slices. A data segment is encoded using an information dispersal algorithm to produce the encoded data slices. The system further includes a grid access manager that generates a data structure pertaining to the software-constructed grouping of storage units. A storage unit of the software-constructed grouping of storage units receives, from a client computer of the system, a request regarding the data segment, obtains, from the data structure, information regarding the request, determines whether the request is valid based on the information regarding the request, and when the request is valid, executes the request.
