LOCAL INSTANTIATION OF REMOTE PERIPHERAL DEVICES

Enhanced apparatuses, systems, and techniques for coupling network-linked peripheral devices into host computing devices is presented. A method includes, over a network interface of a host device, obtaining an indication of a peripheral device available for associating with the host device. Based on the indication, the method includes initiating instantiation of the peripheral device into a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) subsystem of the host device by at least emulating behavior of the peripheral device over the network interface as a PCIe peripheral device coupled locally to the host system.

Information handling system and detachable game controller

A game controller has first and second controller housings that detachably couple to an information handling system and a bridge to communicate inputs by plural input devices directly with the information handling system or indirectly by communicating with the bridge so the bridge communicates with the information handling system. The information handling system operates in a handheld mode with game controller input devices, such as joysticks and triggers, coupled for use at opposing sides of the information handling system housing, or in a standalone mode with the game controllers detached from the information handling system and attached to a bridge so that the bridge communicates the controller inputs to the information handling system. Attachment of a game controller to a bridge or information handling system is aided with opposing polarity magnets at proper alignment. If a game controller attempts to couple to an opposite of an intended side, like polarity of the magnets repel the game controller from the bridge or information handling system.

Visual indicator for portable device

A portable device may perform a method that includes detecting that the portable device is coupled to a host device via a host interface of the portable device. The method includes generating a visual indication at a visual indicator of the portable device. The visual indication is indicative of a data transfer capacity of the host interface.

Configurable serial communication hub

An apparatus and method for configuring a serial communication hub are disclosed herein. A serial communication hub includes an upstream port, a plurality of downstream ports, and a port controller. The port controller is configured to: arrange each of a first of the downstream ports and a second of the downstream ports to individually operate as a first type of serial communication interface; and to arrange the first of the downstream ports and the second of the downstream ports to operate in combination as a second type of serial communication interface.

The electronic device assembly is configured to provide interactive functions that include text messaging, time-keeping, calendar functions, calculations, game-playing, and audio/video media playback. The electronic device assembly is further configured to provide interactive control of and display of data from the at least one peripheral device. The electronic device is further configured to mirror a personal computing device's display on the electronic device assembly's display.

An information processing device that can communicate with an external device includes a controller for controlling the information processing device, and a network interface for communicating data with the external device via a network. The network interface performs proxy response for responding to specific data received from the external device via the network to the external device without the controller. The network interface includes a storage unit for storing system status information indicating a power state of the information processing device and determines whether or not to perform the proxy response on the basis of the system status information stored in the storage unit.

Universal serial bus smart hub

A USB smart hub may provide enhanced battery charging, data storage security, vendor matching, device authentication, data capture/debug, and role switching. The smart hub may include an upstream port, a plurality of downstream ports, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor for storing USB host stack code and configuration parameters. The smart hub may include a USB hub core having a core to implement a standard USB hub interface. The smart hub may include a plurality of 2:1 multiplexors coupled between the downstream ports, the core downstream ports, and the processor. The processor may control the 2:1 multiplexors. The processor may be configured to detect when a USB device is coupled to a downstream port and to run the USB host stack code and to enumerate the USB device. The processor may provide enhanced features based on the configuration parameters.

A memory system includes: a plurality of memory devices including a memory cell array having a plurality of planes, the plurality of memory devices being commonly connected to a memory controller through a channel; a super block including pages included in the planes of at least two memory devices among the plurality of memory devices; and the memory controller for transmitting, to the memory devices, at least one command instructing an operation on the super block and an address corresponding to the command. Each of the memory devices includes: peripheral circuit for performing the operation on the memory cell array; a group selection signal generator for outputting a group selection signal indicating the at least two memory devices constituting the super block; and control logic for controlling the peripheral circuit to perform an operation corresponding to the command, based on the group selection signal.
