20170365885 · 2017-12-21 · ·

The present disclosure relates to a system capable of verifying an external device control function of a secondary battery management device, and that is coupled with an input/output terminal unit, a communication terminal unit and a measurement terminal unit of the secondary battery management device. The system generates conditions causing operation of the external device, monitors whether an external device control signal is being output normally through the input/output terminal unit of the secondary battery management device, and verifies whether current operation state information for the external device is being maintained exactly in a memory element. The system may include an interface unit to convert the format of the data being transmitted between the computer and the secondary battery management device, and a voltage simulator capable of artificially generating a voltage signal representing the voltage, current and temperature level of the secondary battery and applying the same to the measurement terminal unit.

Billboard for Context Information Sharing

Embodiments relate to a billboard circuit that stores context information received from various component circuits in an electronic device. The context information indicates an operating status of the corresponding component circuit, system or shared resources. The stored context information may be retrieved by one or more component circuits when events (e.g., turning on of a component circuit) are detected. By using the billboard circuit, a component circuit may detect changes in the operating status of other components circuits and configure or update its operations even when the changes occurred while the component circuit was asleep or disabled. The billboard circuit may monitor updating of the context information by the component circuit and initiate notification to other components circuits when certain entries of the context information is updated.

In a virtualized computer system in which a guest operating system runs on a virtual machine of a virtualized computer system, a computer-implemented method of providing the guest operating system with direct access to a hardware device coupled to the virtualized computer system via a communication interface, the method including: (a) obtaining first configuration register information corresponding to the hardware device, the hardware device connected to the virtualized computer system via the communication interface; (b) creating a passthrough device by copying at least part of the first configuration register information to generate second configuration register information corresponding to the passthrough device; and (c) enabling the guest operating system to directly access the hardware device corresponding to the passthrough device by providing access to the second configuration register information of the passthrough device.

Systems and methods for implementing a user mode virtual serial communications port emulator

Systems and methods for implementing a user mode virtual serial communications port emulator are disclosed herein. According to an aspect, a method for a virtual serial communications port emulator includes using at least one processor and memory for creating a virtual serial communication port (VCP) driver in a user mode of an operating system. The method further includes emulating a physical serial communication port using the VCP driver. In addition, the method includes converting outgoing data from an application executed on the at least one processor and memory via the VCP driver into a format complying with a protocol associated with a VCP device server. The method also includes converting incoming data from the VCP device server complying with the protocol into a second format understood by the application, wherein the VCP driver is communicated with using an unpublished universally unique identifier (UUID).

Presenting multiple endpoints from an enhanced PCI express endpoint device

A system that provides virtualized computing resources to clients or subscribers may include an enhanced PCIe endpoint device on which an emulation processor emulates PCIe compliant hardware devices in software. In response to receiving a transaction layer packet that includes a transaction directed to an emulated device, the endpoint device may process the transaction, which may include emulating the target emulated device. The endpoint device may include multiple PCIe controllers and may expose multiple PCIe endpoints to a host computing system. For example, each PCIe controller may be physically coupled to one of multiple host processor sockets or host server SOCs on the host computing system, each of which exposes its own root complex. Traffic received by the PCIe controllers may be merged on the endpoint device for subsequent processing. Traffic originating at one host processor socket may be steered to the PCIe controller to which it is directly attached.

Standardized interface for network using an input/output (I/O) adapter device

An I/O (Input/Output) adapter device can present itself as a network backend driver with an emulated network backend driver interface to a corresponding network frontend driver executing from an operating system running on a host device independent of a virtualization or non-virtualization environment. For each guest operating system executing from its respective virtual machine running on the host device, para-virtualized (PV) frontend drivers can communicate with corresponding PV backend drivers implemented by the I/O adapter device using a corresponding virtual function by utilizing SR-IOV (single root I/O virtualization) functionality.

METHOD FOR ACCESSING A NUMBER OF SLAVE DEVICES WITH REGISTERS BY A MASTER DEVICE OVER A NETWORK

A computer, such as a programmable logic controller (PLC), implemented method for accessing a number of slave devices having a number of registers by a master device on a network includes the steps of: providing a generic driver software in the master device for accessing slave devices on the network; reading by the master device description files, describing the slave devices on the network; and using the description files for converting data read from and written to the generic driver when accessing the slave devices on the network.
