MEDIA UNIT RETRIEVAL AND RELATED PROCESSES
Media unit retrieval methods, systems and computer program products are provided that allow a user to search for an item by iteratively presenting media units such as images representing items to the user and receiving user input consisting of selections of the presented media units (including possibly the empty selection). Features, or attributes, a user is interested in, for example semantic features, are inferred from the interaction and media units are retrieved for presentation based on similarity with user-selected media units, through sampling of a probability distribution describing the intent or interests, or combinations of approaches. Accordingly, the user-experience is akin to a conversation about what the user is looking for. Retrieval may be based on both selected and unselected media units and the selection may comprise making a selection with a single action. Further, a database of media units can capture similarity relationships for efficient media unit retrieval.

Method and apparatus for managing digital files
A computer-implemented method of associating digital tags with digital files comprises storing a plurality of digital files having embedded therein content data and metadata including tags; receiving, via a user interface device of a client device, a first tag label containing alphanumeric text created and inputted by a user of the client device; modifying, using a controller device, a selected first one of the tags of the metadata in a first of the digital files to include the first tag label; receiving, via the user interface device or another user interface device, an instruction to search for all of the digital files having at least the first tag label; responsive to receiving the instruction, automatically searching for all of the digital files having at least the first tag label; and displaying, on a video display device associated with the client device, a first indication of the first tag label.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SCREENSHOT LINKING
Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to analyzing screenshots A system can include a computing device including a processor coupled to a memory and a display screen configured to display content. The system can include an application stored on the memory and executable by the processor. The application can include a screenshot receiver configured to access, from storage to which a screenshot of the content displayed on the display screen captured using a screenshot function of the computing device is stored, the screenshot including an image and a predetermined marker. The application can include a marker detector configured to detect the predetermined marker included in the screenshot. The application can include a link identifier configured to identify, using the predetermined marker, a link to a resource mapped to the image included in the screenshot, the resource accessible by the computing device via the link.
Systems and methods for an image repository for pathology
Systems and methods for managing an image repository for pathology. In an embodiment, a search request is received. One or more digital slide images are identified from an image repository based on the search request. A user is provided access to the identified digital slide images. In addition, each of a plurality of collections of digital slide images are associated with a search rating, and a value for each of the plurality of collections is computed based on the associated search rating and a size of the collection.
Organizing media items based on metadata similarities
A media item selection application is provided for use with computing devices. The media item selection application is configured to identify media items that have significant similarities in metadata values, such as location and time period. The media item selection application is further configured to visualize similar media items as a group, depicted as a section within a collection or gallery, in which each group is a suggestion for a natural collection of media items representing an event. Where media items do not fall within a group of a particular size with significant similarities, groups are consolidated to create a second type of collection which covers a time-period between two significant groups. Further, the media item selection application is configured to depict media items that show extraordinary similarity as a virtual stack of all such media items.

Control method and recording medium
A method for controlling an information terminal causes a computer of the information terminal to receive, from a case retrieval system, a plurality of similar medical images having a feature quantity of a region of interest and a certain degree of similarity in accordance with the region of interest included in a target medical image, displays a display screen displaying the plurality of received similar medical images on a touch panel display, the display screen including a display region in which at least some of the plurality of received similar medical images are displayed, displays, if selection of a first similar medical image from among the at least some of the plurality of received similar medical images displayed in the display region is detected, the first similar medical image across the display region, and displays, if a swipe operation performed on the first similar medical image is detected, a second similar medical image, which has second highest similarity next to the first similar medical image among the plurality of similar medical images, in the display region such that a corresponding region of interest included in the second similar medical image is located at a certain position in the display region.
System and device for pre-caching of related medical imaging
Improved systems and devices for pre-caching of related medical imaging are provided. A medical imaging order may be received from a medical facility that includes medical imaging of a site generated by a medical imaging device. The medical imaging order may include metadata, such as user data, site data, and modality data. A search may be executed for supplemental medical imaging of the user using the user data. The supplemental medical imaging may be filtered using the site data to return only that medical imaging related to the site. The filtered supplemental medical imaging may be prioritized using the modality data. The prioritized supplemental medical imaging may be appended to the request, and the request may be transmitted to a radiologist for generation of a medical imaging report.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DISAMBIGUATING USER INPUT BASED ON DETECTION OF ENSEMBLES OF ITEMS
Systems and methods are described for disambiguating user input based on a physical location of items in a vicinity of a user. The system determines that a query received from a user contains an ambiguity. In response, the system identifies several items in the physical vicinity of the user. Then, the system analyzes the identified plurality of items to determine whether the plurality of items forms a first ensemble of items or a second ensemble of items. If the plurality of items forms a first ensemble of items, the system performs a search using the search query and a first keyword related to the first ensemble of items. If the plurality of items forms a second ensemble of items, the system performs a search using the search query and a second keyword related to the second ensemble of items. The system then outputs results of the performed search.
