Storage of metadata and images
10678844 · 2020-06-09 · ·

Media capture apparatus and methods for obtaining metadata. Metadata may be collected and stored in a container independent of audio and/or image (media) content. Some container implementations may be configured to store metadata for a given interval, and media content for a portion of the interval. In action camera implementations, metadata may provide a context related to time, physical conditions of a person, location, surroundings of the video capture. In event recording applications, the metadata container may provide information related to a timeline of the event, environmental conditions, proximity of other capture devices. Metadata may be utilized for processing, viewing, and/or sharing of media content. Individual capture devices may communicate and/or combine metadata to one another in order to expand metadata content. Metadata, video and/or images may be shared between users and/or devices using a container.

Prioritized device actions triggered by device scan data

Systems, methods, devices, server computers, storage media, and instructions for prioritized device action triggered by device scan data are described. In one embodiment, a mobile device performs a method that involves executing a messaging application with an image capture interface and a scanning input. An associated scanning mode comprises capture of scan data from a plurality of input/output modules of the first client device, analyzes the scan data to identify one or more scan data patterns by matching at least a portion of the scan data against a set of data patterns, and selects a priority system action based on the results of the matching of the portion of the scan data against the set of data patterns. In some embodiments, the priority system action is selected based on a priority ranking for identified scan data types.

Cognitive content display device

A voice input may be received, and from the voice input, a topic may be identified. A sentiment score for the topic may be generated using sentiment analysis on the voice input, and the sentiment score may reflect an individual's reaction to the topic. The sentiment score may be compared to a sentiment threshold. In response, one or more images may be selected, based on the topic, from an image database. The one or more images may be validated, and then displayed.

Dynamic event detection system and method

A method for dynamic event detection based on content from a set of social networking systems including receiving content from the set of social networking systems, identifying a plurality of content associated with a geofence, the content that was generated within a predetermined time period, determining feature values from the plurality of content for each of a set of features, determining an event probability for the geofence based on the feature values, and detecting an event within the geofence in response to the event probability exceeding a threshold event probability.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING CUSTOMIZED CONNECTED DEVICE FUNCTIONALITY AND FOR OPERATING A CONNECTED DEVICE VIA AN ALTERNATE OBJECT
20200175850 · 2020-06-04 ·

A system and method in a mobile device for controlling a connected device is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving an image; processing the image to identify at least a first image attribute where the first image attribute includes an image feature or an image object; accessing a database of connected devices, each connected device in the database being identified by a linked image and being associated with device metadata describing at least a device type of the connected device; comparing the first image attribute with the linked images corresponding to the connected devices stored in the database; identifying a first connected device having a linked image matching the first image attribute; and in response to the identifying, providing a user interface configured to control the first connected device, the user interface including a control function corresponding to the device type of the first connected device.

TEXT DOMAIN IMAGE RETRIEVAL

An image retrieval system may receive an image query that includes image data. The image retrieval system may determine an image descriptor based on the image data. The image retrieval system may obtain a text descriptor associated with the image descriptor in the descriptor repository. The image retrieval system may generate a document query comprising a search parameter, the search parameter including the text descriptor. The image retrieval system may identify, in a document database, text documents based on the document query. The text documents may be associated with document identifiers. The image retrieval system may obtain, from the file mapping repository, image identifiers associated with the document identifiers. The image query result from the image retrieval system may reference images associated with the image identifiers.

WEIGHTED DIGITAL IMAGE OBJECT TAGGING

Weight image object tagging includes acquiring digital images based on a user browsing webpages, automatically tagging the digital images based on weighting individual image objects, where automatically tagging a digital image of the digital images is based on a relative weighting between objects recognized from that digital image, and building a user preference profile based on recurrences of tags across the digital images.

File management apparatus and image display apparatus

A file management apparatus includes the following elements: a representative image storage device storing representative image data of each of a plurality of content files in association with a creation time of the content file; a rendering unit rendering the representative image data at a position corresponding to the creation time with a calendar continuous over days, months, and years serving as a background; a display state maintaining unit maintaining, as a display state, a time-axis range of the calendar being displayed and a position thereof; an operation receiving unit receiving a change operation to change the display state, the change operation commonly being a scrolling operation in a time-series direction in any time-axis range; and a controller controlling, in response to the change operation, the rendering means to render the representative image data on the calendar on the basis of the display state.
