An object recognition device includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire a recognition target image that serves as an object to be recognized; a retrieval unit configured to search an image database storing a plurality of image data in association with tag information and retrieve a similar image that matches the recognition target image; and a recognition unit configured to recognize the object included in the recognition target image on the basis of tag information associated with a similar image obtained by the retrieval unit. The recognition may select the tag information that appears most frequently among the tag information associated with the similar images as a recognition result. The recognition unit may also compute a tag information reliability score from the similar image in the retrieval result and recognize an object taking into account said reliability score.

Digital information indicative of the at least one of the orientation or the position of the endpoint relative to the component can be generated responsive to the endpoint of the marking device contacting the component. The digital information can be used to alter a digital model based on defects of the component corresponding to portions contacted by the endpoint of the marking device.

For example, a method includes receiving a selection of a first screen capture image representing a screen captured on a mobile device associated with a user, the first image having a first timestamp. The method also includes determining, using a data store of images of previously captured screens of the mobile device, a reference image from the data store that has a timestamp prior to the first timestamp, identifying a plurality of images in the data store that have respective timestamps between the timestamp for the reference image and the first timestamp, and providing the reference image, the plurality of images, and the first image to the mobile device.

Image enhancement and repair using sample data from other images

Techniques for capturing images are described. In one scenario, one or more processors of an imaging device can obtain geodata information and time information associated with the imaging device. The geodata and time information is obtained prior to capturing a first image. Next, one or more second images can be identified from a database of images based on the geodata information and the time information. The processor(s) can be communicatively coupled to the database via a communications network. Additionally, the one or more processors can determine one or more image capture conditions associated with the one or more second images; and automatically modify one or more settings of the imaging device to be used for capturing the first image. The settings can be modified based on at least one of the one or more image capture conditions associated with the one or more second images. Other embodiments are possible.

Image search persona techniques and systems are described. In one or more implementations, a digital medium environment is described for controlling image searches by one or more computing devices. An image search request and an indication of one or more personas of one or more respective users associated with the image search request is received by the one or more computing devices. The one or more personas specify characteristics of the one or more respective users themselves. A plurality of images are obtained by the one or more computing devices based on the image search request. The plurality of images are filtered by the one or more computing devices based on the one or more personas and a search result is generated by the one or more computing devices from the filtered plurality of images.
