Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for contextually disambiguating queries are disclosed. In an aspect, a method includes receiving an image being presented on a display of a computing device and a transcription of an utterance spoken by a user of the computing device, identifying a particular sub-image that is included in the image, and based on performing image recognition on the particular sub-image, determining one or more first labels that indicate a context of the particular sub-image. The method also includes, based on performing text recognition on a portion of the image other than the particular sub-image, determining one or more second labels that indicate the context of the particular sub-image, based on the transcription, the first labels, and the second labels, generating a search query, and providing, for output, the search query.

A facial recognition system includes a memory for storing a facial image database, wherein the facial image database includes a plurality of entries each corresponding to a different person, and wherein each entry includes a person identifier along with one or more facial images of the person. The facial recognition system further includes a facial recognition module that is operatively coupled to the memory. The facial recognition module is configured to receive a new facial image, and to select one or more facial recognition engines based on one or more facial image parameters of the new facial image, and to use the selected facial recognition engines to compare the new facial image with facial models that are based upon facial images stored in the facial image database in order to identify the person in the new facial image.

A method of generating log data that includes a plurality of records, in which information detected through image recognition processing on a plurality of image frames is recorded. The method includes, detecting objects in each image frame through the image recognition processing, generating a record including identification information of each image frame and the aggregated number of objects detected in the image frame for each image frame, and adding metadata relating to the detected objects to the corresponding record when the aggregated number of objects is equal to or greater than one. When the aggregated number of objects is zero, the metadata related to the detected objects is not added to the record.

A computer-implemented method includes communicating a ratings user interface to allow a user to provide a movie title rating value, wherein a movie title rating value is based upon a user's unique appreciation and/or enjoyment of the movie title. The method further includes receiving one or more movie title rating values, the one or more movie title rating value input by the user into the ratings user interface. The present disclosure discloses a photo processing method and an apparatus for grouping photos into photo albums based on facial recognition results. The method includes: performing face detection on multiple photos, to obtain a face image feature set, each face image feature in the face image feature set corresponding to one of the multiple photos; determining a face-level similarity for each pair of face image features in the face image feature set; determining a photo-level similarity between each pair of photos in the multiple photos in accordance with their associated face-level similarities; generating a photo set for each target photo in the multiple photos, wherein any photo-level similarity between the target photo and another photo in the photo set exceeds a predefined photo-level threshold; and generating a label for each photo set using photographing location and photographing time information associated with the photos in the photo set.

A system and method for creating a 3D virtual model of an event, such as a wedding or sporting event, and for sharing the event with one or more virtual attendees. Virtual attendees connect to the experience platform to view the 3d virtual model of the event on virtual reality glasses, i.e. a head mounted display, from a virtual gallery, preferably from a user selected location and orientation or a common location and orientation for all virtual attendees. One of the methods includes determining, using a textual query, an image category for images responsive to the textual query, and an output type that identifies a type of requested content; selecting, using data that associates a plurality of images with a corresponding category, a subset of the images that each belong to the image category, each image in the plurality of images belonging to one of the two or more categories; analyzing, using the textual query, data for the images in the subset of the images to determine images responsive to the textual query; determining a response to the textual query using the images responsive to the textual query; and providing, using the output type, the response to the textual query for presentation.

Provided are techniques for selecting an image for comparison with a plurality of images; specifying one or more visual criterion for searching the plurality of images, wherein the visual criteria are based upon a visual similarity between the image and the plurality of images; searching the plurality of images based upon the criteria to identify a subset of the plurality of images that meet a threshold with respect to the visual similarity; and displaying in a graphical user interface the subset of images.
