Devices, systems, and methods of generating and playing navigatable podcasts. A method includes: receiving an audio recording of a podcast; performing automatic speech recognition of the audio recording of the podcast, to generate a textual transcript of the podcast; detecting vocal cues in the textual transcript of the podcast, wherein each detected vocal cue indicates a beginning of a new in-podcast topic of the podcast; automatically generating for the podcast a table of content having a list of in-podcast topics. An end-user device then displays the table of content of the podcast during its playback, and enables to skip or navigate among the displayed in-podcast topics.

A data positioning method includes obtaining positional information indicating a position which is designated by operation of an operation unit in any region among a plurality of regions, each of the plurality of regions corresponding to a predetermined direction along which values of a series of pieces of data are varied and being provided for designating a position of the series of pieces of data in the predetermined direction, and the plurality of regions include at least one region for designating a plurality of discrete positions of the series of pieces of data in the predetermined direction. The method further includes determining the position for designating a portion of data corresponding to the obtained positional information, any one position being determined among the plurality of discrete positions when positional information indicating a position in the region for designating the discrete positions is obtained.

An application running on the wireless device has been automatically adapted to parameters associated with the wireless device without end-user input (e.g. the application has been configured in dependence on the device OS and firmware, related bugs, screen size, pixel number, security models, connection handling, memory etc. This application enables an end-user to browse and search music content on a remote server using a wireless network; to download music content from that remote server using the wireless network and to playback and manage that downloaded music content. The application also includes a digital rights management system that enables unlimited legal downloads of different music tracks to the device and also enables any of those tracks stored on the device to be played so long as a subscription service has not terminated.

The electronic device includes a display; an audio processing unit; and a controller configured to control the audio processing unit to output sound of first content from a foreground of the display at a preset foreground volume, detect a request to search for second content, and in response to the detected request, control the audio processing unit to simultaneously output sound of the second content from a background of the display at a preset background volume with the sound of the first content. The preset foreground volume differs from preset background volume.

A component for controlling playback of digital media objects using a single control input receives, from a server, a plurality of feature vectors, each feature vector representing one of a plurality of media objects, and receives one or more skip requests from the single control input. In response to a first skip request, the component selects a feature vector from among the plurality of feature vectors and instructs a media object playback device to playback a media object represented by the selected feature vector. In response to a second or successive skip request, the component selects another feature vector from among the plurality of feature vectors that is a distance away from the previously selected feature vector and instructs the media object playback device to playback another media object represented by the selected other feature vector.
