Media storage

A user of a storage system can upload files for a media asset, which can include a high quality media file and various related files. As part of the upload process, the storage system can extract metadata that describes the media asset. The user can specify one or more lifecycle policies to be applied for storage of the asset, and a rules engine can ensure the application of the one or more policies. The rules engine can also enable the use of simple media processing workflows. A filename hashing approach can be used to ensure that the segments and files for the asset are stored in a relatively random and even distribution across the partitions of the storage system. As part of the lifecycle for the asset, the high quality media file can be moved to less expensive storage once transcoding of the asset or another such action occurs.

VIDEO GENERATION

A video generation method is provided. The video generation method includes: obtaining global semantic information and local semantic information of a text, where the local semantic information corresponds to a text fragment in the text, searching, based on the global semantic information, a database to obtain at least one first data corresponding to the global semantic information; searching, based on the local semantic information, the database to obtain at least one second data corresponding to the local semantic information; obtaining, based on the at least one first data and the at least one second data, a candidate data set; matching, based on a relevancy between each of at least one text fragment and corresponding candidate data in the candidate data set, target data for the at least one text fragment; and generating, based on the target data matched with each of the at least one text fragment, a video.

VIDEO GENERATION

A video generation method is provided. Methods and systems of providing video content are disclosed. A request to view video content is received from a viewer. In response to the request, it is determined whether the viewer has advert-free rights to watch the video content. In response to determining that the viewer does not have the advert-free rights to watch the video content, an alternative advert (AA) query is prepared based on query rules, and the AA query is presented to the viewer. An AA query response to the AA query is received from the viewer. In response to determining that the AA query response is a first response, one or more AA offers are determined and the AA offers are sent to the viewer. The requested video content is streamed to a viewer device of the viewer without adverts.

An electronic device and method are disclosed. The electronic device includes a display, a processor and memory. The processor may implement the method, including analyzing, by a processor, a first video to identify any characters included in the first video, displaying one or more icons representing one or more characters identified in the first video via a display, receiving, by input circuitry, a first user input selecting a first icon representing a first character from among the one or more icons, based on the first user input, selecting image frames of the first video that include the first character from among image frames included in the first video, and generating, by the processor, a second video including the selected image frames. A second embodiment includes automatically selecting images from a gallery including one or more characters for generation of a video.
