Digital rights management systems and methods for audience measurement are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein include enabling a media handler implemented by a media device to begin presenting first media based on a first digital license associated with the first media. Such example methods also include retrieving a second digital license different from the first digital license from a license server separate from the media device. Such example methods further include causing the media handler to perform a first media monitoring operation based on the second digital license, the first media monitoring operation being deactivated by default.

System and computer-implemented method for license management of virtual appliances in a computing system uses an activated virtual appliance in the computing system to forward an activation license from a license server on behalf of an unactivated virtual appliance in the computing system.

A first computing device for product ownership management is provided. The first computing device is communicatively coupled to a store management system of a retail store. The circuitry determines a first geo-location associated with the first computing device. The circuitry receives credit information, associated with a purchase of a first product by a first user of the first computing device, from the store management system. The credit information may include a second geo-location associated with purchase of the first product. The circuitry compares the first geo-location and the second geo-location and receives product information associated with the purchased first product, based on the comparison. There is disclosed a method of providing an authentication service, wherein: i) a plurality of authentication virtual appliances is deployed in a distributed network by way of an authentication management platform application; ii) a pool of authentication licences is allocated to the authentication management platform application, each licence comprising computer code permitting an end user to authenticate his/her identity to at least one authentication virtual appliance by way of a predetermined computer-implemented authentication protocol; and iii) the management platform application allocates, revoke and reallocate authentication licences, from the pool of authentication licences, to end users by way of a graphical user interface.
