Method and system are provided for power socket management. The method carried out at a server may include receiving power data from a plurality of user devices and obtaining event information for an event location, including details of the user devices required for the event. The method may process the power data for the required user devices for an event by optimizing the use of power sockets at the event location. The method may notify the required user devices of the optimized socket usage for a user device.

A system and method is disclosed for detecting a specific voltage phase, from a multiphase voltage source, and a specific outlet of an intelligent power strip, that is associated with a residual current flow. The method accomplishes this by using a system that employs a statistical time series analysis using a Pearson's correlation coefficient calculation to measure the linear dependence between the discretely sampled residual current waveform and each phase and outlet's discretely sampled current waveforms, in turn. A residual current as low as 1 mA can be accurately measured and its associated voltage phase source, as well as which outlet of an intelligent power strip it flows out of, can be reliably determined.

It is detected that the power level of a given output connector exceeds a fixed power limit. In response to the detection, a delivery of power by the given output connector is stopped while maintaining a delivery of power by a remainder of the output connectors. Power delivery may be resumed in response to receiving a user command to rearm the given output connector. A power distribution unit adapted to prevent disjunctions is also disclosed.

A detector emits a first fault signal when the sensed power level exceeds a fixed power limit. A latch maintains the first fault signal until it receives a rearm signal. A controller emits a second fault signal when the sensed power level exceeds a configurable power threshold, receives a user command to rearm the circuit, and in response to receiving the user command, emits the rearm signal and ceases the emission of the second fault signal. A logic combiner generates the disabling signal when it receives one of the first and second fault signals.

A delivery of power by the given output connector is stopped when the power level of the given output connector exceeds the configurable power threshold for the given output connector. Power delivery may be resumed in response to receiving a user command to rearm the given output connector. A power distribution unit adapted to limit its total power delivery is also disclosed.
