IMMERSIVE COLLABORATION OF REMOTE PARTICIPANTS VIA MEDIA DISPLAYS

An immersive digital experience for video conferencing simulates common presence of a virtual participant in a local environment. Such simulation may include (i) using a transparent media display having a portion of its pixels projecting the virtual participant's body image while keeping at least a portion of the background transparent (e.g., to visible light), (ii) disposing sensor(s) (e.g., camera) behind the transparent media display at the gaze of the participant, and/or (iii) using added virtual overlays (e.g., of plants, memorabilia, and/or furniture) to the virtual image (e.g., that are consistent with the local environment), e.g., to provide a sense of depth ranging from the overlays to the virtual participant projection and to the background showing through the transparent media display.

The device is “controller-held” around a user's hand, holding onto hand anatomy at key locations. In some embodiments, the device has one-handed engagement and disengagement. In some embodiments, the device may be used as a game controller, incorporating WebVR electronics and software, wireless communication, power-harvesting electronics, inertial measurements unit electronics including additional inputs for camera-based IMU supplementation, battery recharging electronic and internal communication protocol support electronics. In some embodiments, the device may be used in non-gaming environments, and include additional electronics that support universal remote controller components, IoT compatibility, and compatibility for wireless charging.

Portable terminal device and information processing system
11487502 · 2022-11-01 · ·

A portable terminal device in an information processing system and method includes a camera and a microphone. Data of obtained images and voice are transmitted to a server that identifies operations to be executed based on the received voice and image data. The server transmits an identification of one or more results of the plurality of operations to the portable terminal device. When the portable terminal device receives only one result from the server, an operation corresponding to the one result is executed, and when a plurality of results is received, the portable terminal device displays information corresponding to the plurality of results as candidates. Additional voice is captured for selecting one of the plurality of results during the displaying of the information. A determination of one result from the plurality of results is made based on the captured voice, and an operation corresponding to the determined result is executed.

Systems and methods to verify values input via optical character recognition and speech recognition

Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable medium for data input with multi-format validation. The method may include receiving data input via a microphone mounted on a user device and receiving the data input via a camera mounted on the user device. Additionally, the method may include comparing the data input via the microphone and the data input via the camera and determining whether the comparison of the data input exceeds a predetermined confidence level. Additionally, the method may include storing the data input, upon determining that the comparison of the data input exceeds the predetermined confidence level and presenting to the user a notification of validation upon determining that the comparison of the data input does not exceed the predetermined confidence level. Additionally, the method may include receiving from the user a validation of the data input based on the notification of validation and storing the data input based on the validation of the data input.

Devices, methods, and graphical user interfaces for interacting with three-dimensional environments
11615597 · 2023-03-28 · ·

A computer system in communication with one or more input devices displays a first view of a three-dimensional environment, including a representation of a physical environment and a first user interface object having a first surface at a first position in the three-dimensional environment corresponding to a first location in the physical environment. While displaying the first view, the computer system detects movement, in the physical environment, of a first person not using the one or more input devices, and in response, in accordance with a determination that the movement of the first person in the physical environment has a first spatial relationship to the first location in the physical environment corresponding to the first user interface object, the computer system moves the first surface of the first user interface object in the first view in accordance with the movement of the first person in the physical environment.

Video display apparatus and method

With respect to a video display apparatus, a technology capable of improving the operability and usability for a user in relation to a generated image such as AR (Augmented Reality) is provided. An HMD as a video display apparatus displays an AR image on a display screen, configures an ID image including identification information (ID) for supporting an operation of a user to the AR image, detects a sight line direction of the user to set a sight line region, and displays the ID image so as to be associated with the AR image when the AR image falls within a range of the sight line region. The HMD receives an operation to select the ID image from the user, selects the AR image associated with the ID image when receiving the operation to select the ID image, and executes a predetermined process associated with the AR image.

Devices, Methods, and Graphical User Interfaces for Interacting with Three-Dimensional Environments

A computer system detects whether the user satisfies attention criteria with respect to a first user interface object displayed in a first view of a three-dimensional environment. In response to detecting that the user does not satisfy the attention criteria with respect to the first user interface object, the computer system displays the first user interface object with a modified appearance. The computer system detects a first movement of a viewpoint of the user relative to a physical environment and detects that the user satisfies the attention criteria with respect to the first user interface object. In response, the computer system displays the first user interface object in a second view of the three-dimensional environment, including displaying the first user interface object with an appearance that emphasizes the first user interface object more than when the first user interface object was displayed with the modified appearance.

Techniques for processing audible input directed to second device based on user looking at icon presented on display of first device

In one aspect, a first device may include at least one processor, a display accessible to the at least one processor, and storage accessible to the at least one processor. The storage may include instructions executable by the at least one processor to present an icon on the display so that the icon appears disposed within the real world at or proximate to a location of a second device associated with the icon. The second device may be different from the first device and exist in the real world. The instructions may also be executable to identify a user of the first device as looking at the icon, receive audible input from the user, and issue a command to the second device to execute at least one function in conformance with the audible input based on the identification of the user as looking at the icon.

A method for performing multi-touch (MT) data fusion is disclosed in which multiple touch inputs occurring at about the same time are received to generating first touch data. Secondary sense data can then be combined with the first touch data to perform operations on an electronic device. The first touch data and the secondary sense data can be time-aligned and interpreted in a time-coherent manner. The first touch data can be refined in accordance with the secondary sense data, or alternatively, the secondary sense data can be interpreted in accordance with the first touch data. Additionally, the first touch data and the secondary sense data can be combined to create a new command.
