The disclosure discloses a printer including a CPU that executes a detection process, a first determination process, and a first mode switching process. In the detection process, a type of a storage body is detected. In the first determination process, it is determined on the basis of a detection result whether the type of the storage body attached to the attaching part is a first type in an ordering state associated with insufficiency in quantity or a second type other than the first type. In the first mode switching process a control mode is switched from a normal mode prepared in advance correspondingly to the second type to a medium-saving mode prepared in advance correspondingly to the first type for reducing a consumption amount of the print-receiving medium than the normal mode, in the case that the type is determined as the first type.

An information processing apparatus includes a hardware processor. The verification state information includes a completed state where the verification of a non-occurrence of an error is completed and an unverified state where the verification of the non-occurrence of an error is not completed, and the hardware professor sets a settability state of an unverified process out of the plurality of processes to a disabled state where a user cannot make settings to allow execution of the unverified process.

Colorant saver feature in a printer

A Toner Saver Feature (TSF) that enables adjustments in toner throughputs thus enhancing a user's control on toner consumption and thereby increasing life of cartridges in printing devices is disclosed. The disclosed TSF is configured to change throughput for each of the plurality of colorants based on at least one Preset Colorant Saver Configuration (Preset) that contains a set of Throughput Rate Reduction (TRR) values for each colorant, and wherein the at least one preset colorant saver configuration is user configurable. TSF enables a user to change the set of TRR values for each of the plurality of colorants individually through a user interface, and save the changed values as one of the Presets. The reduction values get implemented in all modes of printing wherein factory set throughput rates for the current mode get further reduced based on the selected Preset.
