An apparatus to prevent curling of a rug corner. The apparatus includes a rigid and planar V-shaped body having a top surface and a bottom surface. A hook-and-pile fastener detachably secures the body and rug together. The body maintains the rug corner in a flat condition thus preventing any curling of the rug.

Various embodiments are directed to an airline carpet kit comprising a plurality of carpet components collectively forming a substantially continuous floor covering, for example, for use within an aircraft interior. Each of the plurality of carpet components comprises a tufted carpet backing having a plurality of carpet tufts extending from a back surface of the carpet backing and above a top surface of the carpet backing; and an edge strip comprising an amorphous plastic material, wherein the edge strip extends around a lateral edge of the carpet backing between a base portion embedded within a back surface of the carpet backing and an edge surface defining a perimeter edge of the carpet component. The edge surface of a first carpet component abuts an edge surface of an adjacent second carpet component to form an at least substantially continuous floor covering for an aircraft interior.

A method for joining two carpet segments, each carpet segment having an underside and at least one edge, comprises abutting one edge of one carpet segment with one edge of the other carpet segment, positioning a length of seam tape under the abutting edges, and activating the adhesive to secure the seam tape to the undersides of both carpet segments. The seam tape comprises an elongated base layer being resilient in a transverse direction, an intervening layer applied to the base layer, and an adhesive applied to the intervening layer.

An apparatus to prevent curling of a rug corner. The apparatus includes a rigid and planar V-shaped body having a top surface and a bottom surface. An adhesive layer is applied to at least a portion of the top surface of the body while a removable protective cover is provided over the adhesive layer. A seaming tape for joining pieces of floor-covering together, such as carpet or resilient floor covering material, and a method for using the same to join adjacent pieces of planar material is provided. The seaming tape can include an upper mesh tape portion and a lower blocking tape portion that is narrower in width than the mesh tape portion. The mesh tape portion can further include a pressure-sensitive adhesive to hold the blocking tape portion in position.
