Reserving one or more security modules for a secure guest

A security module, such as a cryptographic adapter, is reserved for a secure guest of a computing environment. The reserving includes binding one or more queues of the security module to the secure guest. The one or more queues are then managed based on one or more actions relating to the reservation.

CENTRAL USER INTERFACE FOR ACCESSING AND UPGRADING OF DATASET INTEGRATIONS

An example method includes accessing, by a system of one or more processors, datasets stored via respective outside devices or systems. The datasets are integrated by the system according to respective integration tiers, with each integration tier being associated with, at least, a respective subset of search functionality enabled via the system. An interactive user interface is presented via a user device, with the interactive user interface presenting summary information. The interactive user interface further enables adjustment of a particular dataset from a first integration tier to a second integration tier.

Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to configure processor partitioning for a multi-process service. In at least one embodiment, a multi-process service configures a set of streaming multiprocessors of one or more parallel processing units to perform one or more threads based on one or more user-defined data values accessible to a parallel processing library, such as compute uniform device architecture (CUDA).

DYNAMIC SUPPORT CONTAINERS FOR CONTAINERIZED APPLICATIONS

A computer system provides dynamic support containers for containerized applications. A pod is instantiated comprising one or more containers and a sidecar container, wherein execution of the sidecar container is temporarily suspended after initialization. It is determined that a container of the one or more containers requires additional computing resources. In response to determining that the container requires additional computing resources, execution of the sidecar container is resumed and the sidecar container is provided with instructions to perform a computing task of the container. In response to determining that the computing task is complete, execution of the sidecar container is suspended. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for providing dynamic support containers for containerized applications in substantially the same manner described above.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO RESERVE RESOURCES FOR WORKLOADS

An example system includes a node and a scheduler. The scheduler is configured to deploy a first workload for execution on the node. The scheduler is also configured to reserve a first amount of resources of the node for the first workload based on a determination that the first workload is running in a transient state. The scheduler is also configured to reduce the first amount of the resources of the node reserved for the first workload based on a determination that the first workload is running in a non-transient state.

RESERVATION MECHANIC FOR NODES WITH PHASE CONSTRAINTS
20230068740 · 2023-03-02 ·

A computer chip, a method, and computer program product for providing phase reservations between processing nodes. A computer chip includes a plurality of processing nodes interconnected in an on-chip data transfer network configured in a circular topology. The processing nodes include reservation mechanisms managing reservations made by processing nodes with phase constraints. The reservation policy allows the processing nodes to make a reservation, for a given phase, in any phase window, only once per reservation window. A reservation window can be a bounded amount of time for when a node is guaranteed an opportunity to transmit at least one message. The reservation policy also prevents the processing nodes from making more than one reservation in a phase window. Once a reservation is granted, the corresponding message may progress on the bus unimpeded. Requestors attempting to transmit messages are blocked until the message is transmitted.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium stores a management program for causing a computer to execute a process the includes receiving designation of a first resource used by a specific server included in a plurality of servers, calculating a first estimated value of power to be consumed by the plurality of servers when the specific server executes first processing using the first resource, determining whether the first estimated value exceeds a first upper limit value of power to be consumed by the plurality of servers, setting in the specific server, when determined that the first estimated value does not exceed the first upper limit value, a second estimated value of power to be consumed by the specific server when the first processing is executed using the first resource, as a second upper limit value of power to be consumed by the specific server.

Avoidance of Workload Duplication Among Split-Clusters
20230161633 · 2023-05-25 ·

A computer implemented method avoids workload duplication in a cluster environment. The computer identifies a state change among a set of cluster resources in a cluster of nodes. Responsive to identifying the state change, the computer predicts resource requirements for a queued workload. The computer determines a pre-assignment of the queued workload to a sub-cluster according to the resource requirements that were predicted for the queued workload. The computer marks the queued workload to indicate the pre-assignment to the sub-cluster.

Disclosed are a system and method of integrating an on-demand compute environment into a local compute environment. The method includes receiving a request from an administrator to integrate an on-demand compute environment into a local compute environment and, in response to the request, automatically integrating local compute environment information with on-demand compute environment information to make available resources from the on-demand compute environment to requesters of resources in the local compute environment such that policies of the local environment are maintained for workload that consumes on-demand compute resources.

A system and method of reserving resources in a compute environment are disclosed. The method embodiment comprises receiving a request for resources within a computer environment, determining at least one completion time associated with at least one resource type required by the request, and reserving resources within the computer environment based on the determine of at least the completion time. A scaled wall clock time on a per resource basis may also be used to determine what resources to reserve. The system may determine whether to perform a start time analysis or a completion time analysis or a hybrid analysis in the process of generating a co-allocation map between a first type of resource and a second type of resource in preparation for reserving resources according to the generated co-allocation map.
