Distributed standards registry for cloud computing environments
Techniques for providing a distributed standards registry are provided. A DSR system may include a plurality of distributed standards registry participants that are collectively configured to provide control logic for the distributed standards registry using a consensus voting mechanism to make control decisions. The DSR system includes include a distributed ontology model library maintained on the plurality of distributed standards registry participants and storing a plurality of ontology models, and a distributed federation broker registry maintained across the plurality of distributed standards registry participants. A first distributed standards registry participant of the plurality of distributed standards registry participants includes a discovery processor operable to receive and process federation participant queries and a registry processor operable to receive and process registration requests to register the federation broker as providing brokerage services related to a federation service described by one of the plurality of ontology models.
Technologies for creating and distributing integration connectors in a cloud service brokerage system
Technologies for creating and distributing integration connectors in cloud service brokerage systems include a developer portal computing device communicatively coupled to a connector hub of a marketplace computing. The developer portal computing device is configured to receive information from a developer via a developer UI portal of a developer portal computing device. Such information includes connector descriptor information for a connector associated with a cloud service and one or more resource types of the connector. The developer portal computing device is further configured to build, via a connector builder of the developer portal computing device, the connector as a function of the connector descriptor information and the one or more resource types, generate a connector package for the built connector, and transmit the generated connector package to a connector hub of a cloud service marketplace computing device, wherein the connector package is usable to create one or more instances of the connector. Additional embodiments are described herein.

Compute Platform Optimization Over the Life of a Workload in a Distributed Computing Environment
Techniques for an optimization service of a service provider network to help optimize the selection, configuration, and utilization, of virtual machine (VM) instance types to support workloads on behalf of users. The optimization service may implement the techniques described herein at various stages in a life cycle of a workload to help optimize the performance of the workload, and reduce underutilization of computing resources. For example, the optimization service may perform techniques to help new users select an optimized VM instance type on which to initially launch their workload. Further, the optimization service may monitor a workload for the life of the workload, and determine new VM instance types, and/or configuration modifications, that optimize the performance of the workload. The optimization service may provide recommendations to users that help improve performance of their workloads, and that also increase the aggregate utilization of computing resources of the service provider network.

Obtain, by the first SPI, the first data, the first data being formatted according to a first service data specification. Transform, by the first SPI based on the uniform access specification, the first data, thereby generating transformed first data formatted according to the uniform access specification. Provide, by the first SPI, the transformed first data to a target service.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVISIONING WORKFLOWS WITH DATA MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Techniques described herein relate to a method for deploying workflows with data management services. The method may include receiving, at a service controller of a federated controller, a request to deploy a workflow in a device ecosystem; decomposing the workflow into a plurality of workflow portions; assigning, based on identifying a first platform controller, a first workflow portion to the first platform controller; assigning, based on identifying a second platform controller, a second workflow portion to the second platform controller; assigning, based on the plurality of workflow portions and a capabilities and constraints data construct, data management services to the first platform controller and the second platform controller; and initiating performance of the first workflow portion by the first platform controller and the second workflow portion by the second platform controller, in which performing the first workflow portion and the second workflow portion includes performing the data management services.
Routing requests in a distributed system
Requests can be routed in a distributed system. When a distributed system includes a core service in which a plurality of plugins run and includes a plurality of clients that run external to the core service, the core service can provide a command router that functions as a common mechanism for routing requests to the plugins. The command router can provide an external endpoint by which the external clients can submit requests to access functionality of the plugins. The command router can also provide an internal endpoint by which the plugins can submit requests to access other plugins. Employing a command router within the core service can facilitate adding and removing plugins.
System and Method for a Self-Optimizing Reservation in Time of Compute Resources
A system and method of dynamically controlling a reservation of resources within a cluster environment to maximize a response time are disclosed. The method embodiment of the invention comprises receiving from a requestor a request for a reservation of resources in the cluster environment, reserving a first group of resources, evaluating resources within the cluster environment to determine if the response time can be improved and if the response time can be improved, then canceling the reservation for the first group of resources and reserving a second group of resources to process the request at the improved response time.

The method includes acquiring a face image, parsing the face image to obtain a first facial feature, and generating a first retrieval instruction according to the first facial feature, the first retrieval instruction carrying the first facial feature. The method further includes selecting a first node from the retrieval device cluster according to a load balancing rule, the first node including a first retrieval server. Finally, the method includes transmitting the first retrieval instruction to the first retrieval server, to trigger the first retrieval server to execute the first retrieval instruction to retrieve the first facial feature, to obtain a first retrieval result.
