Distributed columnar data set subset retrieval
An apparatus includes a processor to: within each reading thread, retrieve a data set part and corresponding part metadata from storage device(s), analyze row group metadata for each row group within the data set part to identify candidate row group(s) meeting specified criteria, and store the candidate row group(s) and corresponding row group metadata within a data buffer of a queue; operate the queue as a FIFO buffer; within each provision thread, retrieve one of multiple row groups and corresponding metadata from within the data buffer, use information in the metadata to identify rows meeting the criteria, and provide those rows to the requesting device or an application; and in response to each instance of storage of a data set part within a data buffer of the queue, analyze the availability of storage space and/or of processing resources to determine whether to dynamically adjust the quantity of reading threads.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF UTILIZING STORAGE SPACE THEREOF
The various embodiments disclose an electronic device including: a storage including a non-volatile memory having a buffer space and a storage space, a storage device controller, and a storage interface, and a processor. According to various embodiments, the processor may be configured to perform control to determine whether the storage supports a high speed data storage mode using a buffer space of a non-volatile memory of the storage, activate a function of writing data buffered in the buffer space of the non-volatile memory into a storage space of the non-volatile memory based on the storage interface operating in a first state based on the storage supporting the high speed data storage mode, and transition the storage interface of the storage to the first state based on no request to the storage being generated during a predetermined time period based on the storage interface operating in a second state.
TECHNIQUES FOR STORAGE MANAGEMENT
Techniques for managing storage may comprise: receiving a request for a first amount of free capacity, wherein the request includes a first priority denoting a purpose for which the first amount of free capacity is requested; determining whether a current utilization of storage exceeds a first threshold associated with the first priority; responsive to determining the current utilization of storage is less than the first threshold associated with the first priority, performing first processing including: determining whether there is a sufficient amount of existing free capacity to grant the first amount; and responsive to determining there is a sufficient amount of existing free capacity to grant the first amount, granting the first amount of free capacity; and responsive to determining the current utilization of storage is not less than the first threshold associated with the first priority, rejecting the request and not granting the first amount of free capacity.
Assembling data deltas in controllers and managing interdependencies between software versions in controllers using tool chain
Disclosed embodiments relate to perform operations for receiving and integrating a delta file in a vehicle. Operations may include receiving, at an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in the vehicle, a delta file, the delta file comprising a plurality of deltas corresponding to a software update for software on the ECU and startup code for executing the delta file in the ECU; executing the delta file, based on the startup code, in the ECU; and updating memory addresses in the ECU to correspond to the plurality of deltas from the delta file.
Method and apparatus for cache write overlap handling
Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to a target device handling overlap write commands. In one embodiment, a target device includes a non-volatile memory and a controller coupled to the non-volatile memory. The controller includes a random accumulated buffer, a sequential accumulated buffer, and an overlap accumulated buffer. The controller is configured to receive a new write command, classify the new write command, and write data associated with the new write command to one of the random accumulated buffer, the sequential accumulated buffer, or the overlap accumulated buffer. Once the overlap accumulated buffer becomes available, the controller first flushes to the non-volatile memory the data in the random accumulated buffer and the sequential accumulated buffer that was received prior in sequence to the data in the overlap accumulated buffer. The controller then flushes the available overlap accumulated buffer, ensuring that new write commands override prior write commands.
System with solid state drive and control method thereof
A system includes a host device, an external bus and a storage device. A driver is installed in the host device. The external bus is connected with the host device. The external bus supports a communication protocol. The storage device includes a controlling circuit and a non-volatile memory. After the storage device issues a request to the host device according to the communication protocol, a reserved space is created in a host memory of the host device in response to the request, and a device information from the storage device is stored into the reserved space. While the host device issues a first command to operate the storage device, the first command is converted into a second command by the driver according to the device information, and then the second command is transmitted to the storage device.
SEMICONDUCTOR MEMORY DEVICE, STORAGE SYSTEM, AND COMPUTER
A semiconductor memory device includes, in addition to a first switching circuit with which a data system signal line between a plurality of semiconductor memory portions and a memory controller is branched, a second switching circuit with which a non-data system signal line between the plurality of semiconductor memory portions and the memory controller is branched, and the first and second switching circuits share a switching signal line.
Single Double Cuckoo Hash
In a network element a decision apparatus has a plurality of multi-way hash tables of single size and double size associative entries. A logic pipeline extracts a search key from each of a sequence of received data items. A hash circuit applies first and second hash functions to the search key to generate first and second indices. A lookup circuit reads associative entries in the hash tables that are indicated respectively by the first and second indices, matches the search key against the associative entries in all the ways. Upon finding a match between the search key and an entry key in an indicated associative entry. A processor uses the value of the indicated associative entry to insert associative entries from a stash of associative entries into the hash tables in accordance with a single size and a double size cuckoo insertion procedure.
INTER-DEVICE PROCESSING SYSTEM WITH CACHE COHERENCY
The devices within an inter-device processing system maintain data coherency in the last level caches of the system as a cache line of data is shared between the devices by utilizing a directory in one of the devices that tracks the coherency protocol states of the memory addresses in the last level caches of the system.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR LOADING FIRMWARE ON DEMAND
Methods and apparatus for enabling a peripheral processor to retrieve and load firmware for execution within the constraints of its memory. The peripheral processor is allocated a portion of the host processor's memory, to function as a logical secondary and tertiary memory for memory cache operation. The described embodiments enable the peripheral processor to support much larger and more complex firmware. Additionally, a multi-facetted locking mechanism is described which enables the peripheral processor and the host processor to access the secondary memory, while minimally impacting the other processor.
