GARBAGE COLLECTION OF REDUNDANT PARTITIONS
A method, system, and computer program product for garbage collection of redundant partitions in distributed data management systems are provided. The method stores data across a set of nodes with the data being stored using one or more partitions and the data and the one or more partitions are replicated across the set of nodes. A first partition is determined to be stale at a first node of the set of nodes. The first partition is marked for deletion locally at the first node. A set of deletion votes are determined for the first partition with each node being associated with a deletion vote. The method determines a deletion decision for the first partition on the first node based on the set of deletion votes.
COLLABORATED PAGE FAULT HANDLING
As described herein, for a selected process identifier and virtual address, a page fault arising from multiple sources can be solved by a one-time operation. The selected process identifier can include a virtual function (VF) identifier or process address space identifier (PASID). In some examples, solving a page fault arising from multiple sources by a one-time operation comprises invoking a page fault handler to determine an address translation.
Packet processing method and related device
A packet processing method and device are provided, to save CPU resources consumed by parsing a packet. The method includes: parsing, by an intelligent network interface card, a received first packet to obtain an identifier of the first packet; updating, by the intelligent network interface card, a control field of a first memory buffer based on the identifier of the first packet; storing, by the intelligent network interface card, a payload of the first packet or a packet header and a payload of the first packet into the first address space through DMA based on an aggregation position of the first packet; aggregating, by a host, the first address information and at least one piece of second address information based on an updated control field in the first mbuf; and reading, by a virtual machine, address information, to obtain data in an address space indicated by the address information.
Data migration based on performance characteristics of memory blocks
A performance manager (400, 500) and a method (200) performed thereby are provided, for managing the performance of a logical server of a data center. The data center comprises at least one memory pool in which a memory block has been allocated to the logical server. The method (200) comprises determining (230) performance characteristics associated with a first portion of the memory block, comprised in a first memory unit of the at least one memory pool; and identifying (240) a second portion of the memory block, comprised in a second memory unit of the at least one memory pool, to which data of the first portion of the memory block may be migrated to apply performance characteristics associated with the second portion. The method (200) further comprises initiating migration (250) of the data to the second portion of the memory block.
USING DYNAMIC DATA STRUCTURES FOR STORING DATA OBJECTS
A technique for dynamic data structure usage for storing data objects is described. In one example of the present disclosure, a system can receive a data object and properties associated with the data object. The system can determine, based on at least one of the properties and pre-defined rules for data objects and corresponding object types, an object type of the data object and a first data structure for storing the data object that is different from a second data structure currently storing data objects in the memory. The system can output a command for causing the first data structure to store the data object in the memory.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MANAGING RACE CONDITIONS DURING USAGE OF A REMOTE STORAGE LOCATION CACHE IN A NETWORKED STORAGE SYSTEM
Methods and systems for a networked storage system are provided. One method includes: generating, by a first node, a dummy entry in a storage location cache of the first node, the dummy entry associated with a read request received by the first node for data stored using a logical object owned by a second node; receiving, by the first node, an invalidation request to invalidate any storage location entry associated with the data, the invalidation request sent in response to the second node receiving a write request to modify the data; invalidating, by the first node, the dummy entry; receiving, by the first node, a response to the read request from the second node with the requested data; and replacing, by the first node, the dummy entry with a storage location entry and invalidating the storage location entry based on the invalidated dummy entry.
System and method for lockless destaging of metadata pages
A method, computer program product, and computing system for receiving a flush request for a metadata page stored in a storage array of a multi-node storage system. The flush request may be queued on a flush request lock queue on at least one node of the multi-node storage system. One or more flush requests may be processed, via multiple nodes of the multi-node storage system, on the metadata page based upon, at least in part, the flush request lock queue.
Method for controlling write buffer based on states of sectors of write buffer and associated all flash array server
The present invention provides a control method of a server, wherein the server includes a write buffer for temporarily storing data from an electronic device, the write buffer has a plurality of sectors, and the write buffer has a write pointer and a flush pointer; and the control method comprises: setting each sector to have one of a plurality of states comprising an empty state, a merging state, a need-flush state and a flushing state; and referring to a state of a specific sector indicted by the write pointer to determine if ignoring the specific sector to directly process a sector after the specific sector.
INTEGRATING AND INCREASING PERFORMANCE OF DISAGGREGATED MEMORY IN OPERATING SYSTEMS
Local memory and disaggregated memory may be identified and monitored for integrating disaggregated memory in a computing system. Candidate data may be migrated between the local memory and disaggregated memory to optimize allocation of disaggregated memory and migrated data according to a dynamic set of migration criteria.
METHOD FOR VIDEO STREAMING
A method for streaming live video includes encoding a video stream on a server, where the server is connected to a client through a network. The server receives a request from the client for a memory address of a first video frame and checks if the memory address of the first video frame has been bit shifted in a direct mapped memory buffer to determine if the first video frame is available. The server provides a memory address of an output video frame to the client in response to the request.
