Break-away bracket and spike
11085199 · 2021-08-10 ·

A ground spike with an attachable mounting bracket. The ground spike has an angled tip adapted to be driven into the ground. The top of the spike has a mounting plate configured to be substantially flat with the ground surface when installed. The mounting plate can be of any suitable size or shape. A plurality of slots are located around the perimeter, and extend towards the center for a distance. An upper post fastening section with an open upper end receives and secures a post, such as a mailbox post. Holes in the sides of the fastening section allow for securely fastening the mounting bracket to the post, such as through screws or similar fastening means. The lower end of the post fastening section includes a second mounting plate, or flanges that extend outward at a right angle. The second mounting plate or flanges comprise a plurality of slots that are configured to align with the slots in the mounting plate attached to the spike. Mechanical fasteners, such as bolts and nuts, are used to fasten the mounting bracket to the spike mounting plate. Preferably, the mechanical fasteners are made of a material that breaks when a threshold level of force is applied to the post secured to the mounting bracket.

MAILBOX SHIELD

A mailbox shield that includes first and second panels connected to one another forming an angle therebetween. The first and second panels are held in place by a plurality of wires therebetween and a post that is adjustable in height and is adapted to be inserted into a ground surface adjacent to a mailbox and is designed to deflect snow and ice being thrown or piled upon the mailbox by a passing snow plow.

Extendable Mailbox
20210298506 · 2021-09-30 · ·

An extendable and resilient mailbox is implemented in which the mailbox can revertibly extend outward to improve accessibility to the mailbox during heavy snowfall. The extendable mailbox is also configured with break-away action which enables the mailbox to laterally move and resiliently revert (or “break away”) to a base position. For example, when a snow plow inadvertently crashes into the extended mailbox, the mailbox will laterally move in the direction of the encounter to reduce the chances of or prevent the mailbox's destruction. Once the snow plow has passed or at least is no longer clashing with the mailbox, the extendable mailbox reverts back to its base position in which it is aligned with the mailbox post.

Remote-Controlled Mailbox
20210267399 · 2021-09-02 ·

A remote-controlled mailbox is provided. The device includes a mailbox housing having an open front end and a front door pivotally affixed thereto, wherein the front door selectively closes the front end. A post is affixed to a base of the mailbox housing. A frame is affixed to a lower end of the post, wherein the frame movably engages a track. Upon actuation of a motor of a mechanical drive system, the frame moves along the track, thereby moving the post and mailbox housing in kind. A remote device includes a plurality of controls thereon, wherein the plurality of controls is operably connected to the motor. Upon actuation of the plurality of controls, the mechanical drive system selectively moves the frame along the track.

The mailbox assembly includes a post, a mail receptacle on an upper poste end, and a base on a lower base end. The base includes one or more hollow cavities for retaining ballast material to thereby move a center of gravity of the mailbox assembly towards the bottom surface, such that the mailbox can withstand 100 N of force applied perpendicular to the post without toppling. The post may also have one or more cavities for holding ballast material.

Blow molded decorative post assembly

A kit for assembling a blow molded post cover including a sleeve and a base. The sleeve having an open bottom end and a hollow interior for receiving a post. The base including a top cap having a first through-hole for receiving the sleeve; a bottom cap having a second through-hole for receiving the sleeve; and a plurality of side panels securable to the top and bottom caps. Each of the plurality of side panels having a first side end, a second side end, and one or more protrusions on a rear surface such that each of the one or more protrusions bears against the sleeve when the base is installed on the sleeve. The first side end of any one of the plurality of side panels is configured to interlock with the second side end of any other one of the plurality of side panels.
