Method, device, and computer program product for managing storage system
The present disclosure relates to a method, a device, and a computer program product for managing a storage system. The storage system includes a first control node, a second control node, and a persistent storage device, the first control node being in an activated state, and the second control node being in a state of transfer from a non-activated state to an activated state. A method includes: loading a first list of page descriptors of the storage system to the second control node to generate a second list of page descriptors at the second control node, the first list including a portion of multiple page descriptors of the storage system that has been modified but has not been flushed to the persistent storage device; receiving a synchronization message from the first control node that indicates that the first list has been modified by the first control node; and updating the second list at the second control node based on the synchronization message. Further, a corresponding device and a corresponding program product are provided. With the example implementations of the present disclosure, the start performance of the control nodes in the storage system can be improved.
Changing Storage Volume Ownership Using Cache Memory
A method, a computing device, and a non-transitory machine-readable medium for changing ownership of a storage volume from a first controller to a second controller without flushing data, is provided. In the system, the first controller is associated with a first DRAM cache comprising a primary partition that stores data associated with the first controller and a mirror partition that stores data associated with the second controller. The second controller in the system is associated with a second DRAM cache comprising a primary partition that stores data associated with the second controller and the mirror partition associated with the first controller. Further, the mirror partition in the second DRAM cache stores a copy of a data in the primary partition of the first DRAM cache and the mirror partition in the first DRAM cache stores a copy of a data in the primary partition of the second DRAM cache.
Methods and apparatus for content-based storage addressing with data prioritization
Methods and apparatus to determine priority information from read and/or write access of data blocks with addressing to physical storage based upon unique identifiers derived from content of data blocks. Time information for the respective data blocks can be stored. In embodiments, data blocks can be moved and/or copied based upon the priority information.
Supporting fault information delivery
A processor implementing techniques to supporting fault information delivery is disclosed. In one embodiment, the processor includes a memory controller unit to access an enclave page cache (EPC) and a processor core coupled to the memory controller unit. The processor core to detect a fault associated with accessing the EPC and generate an error code associated with the fault. The error code reflects an EPC-related fault cause. The processor core is further to encode the error code into a data structure associated with the processor core. The data structure is for monitoring a hardware state related to the processor core.
Deduplication-based data security
Providing data security includes: in response to a request to write data content to a storage, generating encrypted data content based on the data content; attempting to obtain a reference to the encrypted data content in the storage; in the event that the reference to the encrypted data content is obtained, modifying a translation line to refer to the reference to the encrypted data content in the storage; and in the event that the reference to the encrypted data content is not obtained: storing the encrypted data content at a new location; obtaining a reference to the encrypted data content stored at the new location; and modifying the translation line to refer to the reference to the encrypted data content stored at the new location.
Logical to physical table fragments
Logical to physical tables each including logical to physical address translations for first logical addresses can be stored. Logical to physical table fragments each including logical to physical address translations for second logical address can be stored. A first level index can be stored. The first level index can include a physical table address of a respective one of the logical to physical tables for each of the first logical addresses and a respective pointer to a second level index for each of the second logical addresses. The second level index can be stored and can include a physical fragment address of a respective logical to physical table fragment for each of the second logical addresses.
Dual controller cache optimization in a deterministic data storage system
A data storage system can optimize deterministic window operation of a data storage system where a host is connected to a data storage device via a system module having at least two controller inputs. A data access request can be stored in a first cache by the system module prior to analyzing an operational parameter of the system and generating a cache strategy that is directed to optimizing execution of the data access request with the two controller inputs during a deterministic window between the host and data storage device. The data of the data access request can be proactively moved to a second cache in accordance with the cache strategy to optimize the deterministic window performance.
ADAPTIVE BLOCK CACHE MANAGEMENT METHOD AND DBMS APPLYING THE SAME
An adaptive block cache management method and a DBMS applying the same are provided. A DB system according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a cache configured to temporarily store DB data; a disk configured to permanently store the DB data; and a processor configured to determine whether to operate the cache according to a state of the DB system. Accordingly, a high-speed cache is adaptively managed according to a current state of a DBMS, such that a DB processing speed can be improved.
Storage system
A storage system includes a first storage controller including a plurality of main storage media and one or more processor cores, and a second storage controller including a plurality of main storage media and one or more processor cores and performing communication with the first storage controller. Storage areas of the main storage media in the first storage controller are allocated to an address map. In response to the occurrence of failures in one or mode main storage media of the main storage media of the first storage controller, the first storage controller performs restarting to reallocate the storage areas of the main storage media excluding one or more main storage media having caused the failures to an address map reduced than before the occurrence of the failures. The second storage controller continues operating during the restarting of the first storage controller.
Dual access memory mapped data structure memory
Systems and methods are provided for expanding the available memory of a storage controller. The systems and methods utilize a PCIe memory controller connected to the backend interface of the storage controller. Memory of the PCIe memory controller is memory mapped to controller memory of the storage controller. The PCIe connection allows the storage controller to access the memory of the PCIe memory controller with latencies similar to that of the controller memory.
