FOLDABLE STORAGE CONTAINER
20210339905 · 2021-11-04 ·

A foldable storage container is implemented which is configured with a lockable door that can be accessed with a key code. The door of the container includes a deadbolt which engages with a receptacle on the frame of the container, which unlocks responsive to receiving a correct key code. In addition, hinges are placed on all four sides of the rear panel and the front panel to enable folding of the container. The top and bottom sets of panels advance upwardly and downwardly, respectively, and the left and right sets of panels push inward into the container's cavity. This compresses the container so that it can be carried and transported more easily, such as through doorways. The foldablility of the container enables the container to accept larger-sized packages while still being dynamically adaptable to fit in doorways to, for example, bring the foldable storage container indoors after use.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANSPORTING GOODS

A system for transporting goods, includes a transport container for holding goods, a driverless transport vehicle for transporting the transport container, and a transfer station, on which the transport container is positionable. The transport container includes a locking device, which is lockable to a first locking unit of the driverless transport vehicle, and to a second locking unit of the transfer station. In a method for transporting goods: the locking device of the transport container is locked to the first locking unit; the transport container is transported by the driverless transport vehicle to the transfer station; the locking device of the transport container is unlocked from the first locking unit; and the locking device of the transport container is locked to the second locking unit.

Exemplary embodiments relate to an apparatus comprising a receiving device (200) configured to receive a package (1) delivered via an airborne drone (100). The receiving device (200) includes a receptacle (201), an optical scanner (208), a transceiver (207), and at least one light emitter (204) in operative connection with a computer (203). The optical scanner (208) is operative to read optical indicia that includes a delivery code. The transceiver (207) is operative to receive a signal that includes a verification code and an encrypted one time code from the drone (100). If the verification code has a predetermined relationship with the delivery information, the computer (203) is operative to decrypt the one time code and to transmit an encrypted optical signal through the at least one light emitter (204) whereby the drone (100) is enabled to identify the receiving device (200) and to position the package (1) therein.

Package receiving locker

Package-receiving-lockers (PRLs) may have a collapsible-locker portion and door-attachment-structure. PRLs may exist in a substantially collapsed configuration for storing the given PRL or for otherwise minimizing a footprint of the given PRL; and these PRLs may exist in a substantially deployed (expanded) configuration for acting as a secure object storage location. Regardless of configuration (deployed or collapsed), PRLs may be removably attached to side-hinged-doors with the door-attachment-structure, in such a way so as not to impair operation of the given door. The PRLs may have various electronics for facilitating access (e.g., locking and unlocking the collapsible-locker), delivery confirmation, and mitigating theft. These electronics, along with specialized software, may allow an intended recipient (e.g., a buyer), a shipper/delivery person (or shipping/deliver robot), and/or a seller/vendor to access the PRL in a controlled and documented manner. At least some of these electronics may be in wireless communications with other electronic devices.
