System and method for detecting at least one transient phase in a steady activity of an animated being
A system for detecting at least one transient phase in a steady activity of an animated being includes processing circuitry for determining signals representative of the motion of the animated being along at least one axis, for calculating a resultant signal representative of a statistical link between samples of signals representative of the motion belonging respectively to at least two temporally offset sliding windows over the samples, and for detecting a transient phase on the basis of the resultant signal.
Dropout Detection in Continuous Analyte Monitoring Data During Data Excursions
Methods, devices, and systems are provided for identifying dropouts in analyte monitoring system sensor data including segmenting sensor data into a plurality of time series wherein each time series is associated with a different instance of a repeating event, selecting a first time series to analyze for dropouts from the plurality of time series; comparing the selected first time series to a second time series among the plurality of time series, determining whether the selected first time series includes a portion that is more than a predefined threshold lower than a corresponding portion of the second time series, and displaying, on a computer system display, an indication that the selected first time series includes a dropout if the selected first time series includes a portion that is more than the predefined threshold lower than the corresponding portion of the second time series.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CARRYING OUT TIMING RELATED TASKS
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for timing related tasks in IoT systems, for example, in relation to synchronisation of clocks and timestamping. It is desirable that the method and system is able to withstand external tampering in a manner which does not jeopardise the accuracy and integrity of time related tasks in the IoT systems.
IMAGE ANALYSIS APPARATUS, METHOD, AND PROGRAM
During tracking, a rough search is performed on a face image area detected in a current frame, and when the reliability of the result of the rough search is equal to or smaller than a threshold value, a value obtained by multiplying a reliability of a rough search result detected in one previous frame by a predetermined coefficient is set as a new threshold value, and it is determined whether or not the reliability of the rough search result detected in the current frame exceeds the newly set threshold value. Then, when the reliability of the rough search result exceeds the new threshold value, the decrease in reliability of the rough search result is considered as temporary, and a tracking flag is kept on while tracking information is also held.
Multiple User Interaction with Audio Devices Using Speech and Gestures
Methods, systems and computer program products for speech and gesture interaction of multiple users with devices using voice activated interfaces are provided herein. A computer-implemented method includes transmitting a pilot signal from a device comprising a voice activated interface, the pilot signal having a frequency, detecting motion of at least one user around the device, associating the detected motion with a gesture, and performing a function in response to the gesture. Detecting the motion includes receiving a reflected signal of the pilot signal caused by the motion of the at least one user, and detecting a shift in the reflected signal from the pilot signal, wherein detecting the shift comprises determining one or more differences between a waveform corresponding to the pilot signal and a waveform corresponding to the reflected signal.
Non-boolean associative processor degree of match and winner take all circuits
Embodiments include circuits, apparatuses, and systems for non-boolean associative processors. In embodiments, an electronic associative processor circuit may include first and second ring oscillators, each having an odd number of inverters, an input terminal, and an output terminal. A first capacitor may have a first terminal coupled with the output terminal of the first ring oscillator and a second capacitor may have a first terminal coupled with the output terminal of the second ring oscillator. Second terminals of the first and second capacitors may be coupled at an oscillator stage output terminal. The inverters of the first and second ring oscillators may be implemented with metal oxide semiconductor transistors. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Methods and systems for classifying optically detected power quality disturbances
An optically detected power quality disturbance caused by a remote load is classified as belonging to a class of known classes of power quality disturbances. Features associated with different power quality disturbances that belong to a plurality of different known classes of power quality disturbances are learned. Cross-covariance is applied to the optically detected power quality disturbance and the different power quality disturbances that belong to the different known classes of power quality disturbances to recognize features of the optically detected power quality disturbance that at least partially match the learned features. The class of power quality disturbances among the plurality of classes of different known power quality disturbances to which the optically detected power quality disturbance belongs is determined based on the recognized features.
