A method for operating an electronic device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: entering a content sharing mode capable of sharing content with a first electronic device; outputting first content shared with the first electronic device; entering a content sharing mode capable of sharing content with a second electronic device; determining the authority to decide a display layout, with respect to the second electronic device; transmitting display layout information to the second electronic device upon determining that the second electronic device has the authority to decide the display layout; and receiving, from the second electronic device, display layout determination information including information on output positions of content shared with the first and second electronic devices. Accordingly, it is possible to provide various optimized display layouts of a screen displaying content of connected electronic devices.

One or more computer processors analyze the content for sensitive data. One or more computer processors determine a location on the display for obfuscating the sensitive data in the content, based on the retrieved one or more applicable regulations. One or more computer processors identify one or more context rules applicable to the sensitive data in the content. One or more computer processors determine the one or more context rules override the one or more applicable regulations. One or more computer processors display the sensitive data in the content.

A display device employs a patterned quantum rod layer having pixel elements driven by pixel splitting to generate a privacy viewing mode. The display device includes a patterned quantum rod layer having first pixel elements including first quantum rods wherein the first quantum rods are aligned in a first alignment direction, and second pixel elements including second quantum rods wherein the second quantum rods are aligned in a second alignment direction different from the first alignment direction. An electronic controller is configured to perform pixel splitting whereby the electronic controller drives the first pixel elements and the second pixel elements such that the patterned quantum rod layer has an off-axis luminance different from an on-axis luminance to generate a privacy viewing mode. The first alignment direction may be oriented 90° relative to the second alignment direction.

Methods, systems, and apparatuses for detecting a presence of a malicious application are disclosed. In an example, a method includes determining a prediction for human user interaction with webpage content of a website by identifying webpage elements in the webpage content, where the webpage elements are for human user interaction, and determining at least one of spatial density of cursor movements or cursor velocity vectors relative to the webpage elements that are indicative of human user interaction with the webpage content. The method further includes using the prediction for human user interaction with the webpage content to determine if received webpage interaction information from a client device is indicative of a presence of a malicious application. The method provides an indication of the presence of the malicious application if the received interaction information is indicative of the presence of a malicious application.
Device, system, and method of preventing unauthorized recording of visual content displayed on an electronic device
The present disclosure involves preventing unauthorized recording of visual content displayed on an electronic device. Via a mobile computing device, it is detected that a user is attempting to digitally record visual content being displayed on a screen of the mobile computing device. Via the mobile computing device, at least one of the following actions is performed in response to the detecting: obfuscating the visual content; restarting the mobile computing device before the visual content is recorded; playing a loud audio signal via the mobile computing device before the visual content is recorded; and temporarily disabling a screenshot function of the mobile computing device.
Intelligent privacy system, apparatus, and method thereof
A directional display apparatus including a directional display device that is capable of directing a displayed image into a viewing window of variable width is provided with a privacy control function. A control system detects the presence of one or more secondary viewers in addition to a primary viewer, and decides whether the one or more secondary viewers is permitted to view the displayed image. The control system directs a displayed image into a viewing window which is adjusted, for example by decreasing the width, in dependence on that detection. In addition, the control system detects relative movement between the primary viewer and the display device, and the width of the viewing window is increased in response to detection of said relative movement.

An intrusion detection system detects when an unexpected person enters the environment of a user who is in a meeting. A privacy protection action which is an action that is to be taken in response to the detected intrusion, is identified. Audio and/or video systems are then controlled to perform the privacy protection action.
