Password recovery
A password recovery technique for access to a system includes receiving a request from a first party to recover the first party's password to access the system, receiving a selection of a second party from the first party, sending a message to the second party requesting that the second party authorize the request to recover the first party's password, receiving authorization from the second party for the request to recover the first party's password, and resetting the first party's password responsive to receiving authorization from the second party.
AUTONOMOUS HINT GENERATOR
Embodiments define a secure code hint generator that determine an occurrence of security word text content within electronic message body text that is descriptive of a security token required to open a secured file referenced by the message. The embodiments distinguish a security phrase subset words of the body text content from a remainder of an entirety of the body text content that include the security word content as a function of determining that the security phrase is more related to describing the security token; generate hint text content that differs from the security phrase and is chosen to reveal the security phrase text content to a user as a function of knowledge of user profile data; and associate the hint to the secured file for display to the user in response to a request for access to the secured file.
Information processing method and server
An information processing method and a server are provided in the embodiments of this application. First data and second data associated with a first account are respectively received from a first user and a second user and the first data and the second data include at least one piece of first feature content and the second feature content respectively. The at least one piece of the first feature content of the first data is compared with the at least one piece of the second feature content of the second data and a correlation is determined. When the correlation meets a preset correlated condition, the first data is determined to be correlated with the second data and the first account is determined to be belonged to the first user. A first password of the first account is sent to the first user or a second password of the first account is received.
Systems and methods for data access control using narrative authentication questions
A system and method for data access control using narrative authentication questions can include a server containing a database storing login credentials for an account associated with a user, and the login credentials can include a narrative authentication question and an authentication response associated with the narrative authentication question. A system and method for data access control using narrative authentication questions can include a user device in data communication with the server, and the user device can receive and transmit user input from the user. Upon receipt of a request to access the account from the user, the server can transmit the narrative authentication question to the user device, receive a user input by the user transmitted from the user device in response to the narrative authentication question, compare the user input to the authentication response stored in the database, calculate a similarity score based on the comparison, and approve the user's request to access the account if the similarity score exceeds a threshold.
Systems and methods for managing resetting of user online identities or accounts
Systems and methods are disclosed for managing the resetting of online identities or accounts of users of Internet web pages. One method includes: receiving, through an electronic device, a request to reset login information to access a web page associated with the user's online account; determining that an IP address associated with the request is not identified as being suspicious; receiving user data intrinsic to the user's request; automatically verifying two or more values of the data intrinsic to the user's request as being indicative of a level of trust of the identity of the user; and transmitting, to the user over the Internet, a subset of options to reset the login information, the subset being selected based on the level of trust.
SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR SECURE PASSWORD RECOVERY AND IDENTITY VERIFICATION
A secure method for resetting the password for an account is disclosed. During the setup of the account, the user can provide the service provider with a media file, and when the user asks the service provider to reset the password for the account, the user will be prompted with several media files. The user can be asked to identify the media file that the user provided to the service provider at the time of the setup of the account. If the user properly identifies the media file, the password will be reset.
Messaging systems and methods
A messaging system for providing messaging service between or among user accounts includes a message database server. The message database server includes an account module to maintain user accounts and an upload module to receive message data from a user communication device associated with a user account. The message data may include a message and a share list that authorizes identified user accounts in which the message is to be shared. A single instance storage module may store the message as a single instance. A share module may share the message with the identified user accounts and delete the message at a predetermined time as specified in the share list.
SECURE CREDENTIALS CONTROL METHOD
Methods, apparatus, and systems are provided to secure access to an account of a user. The account may have a system administrator. The user may have a credential for accessing the secure data on the account. The methods, apparatus, and systems involve setting a universal reset credential associated with the account, denying the system administrator of the account permission to change the first credential of the access feature, and permitting the system administrator to reset the access feature from the first credential to the universal reset credential.
Firmware password management
Firmware passwords, such as BIOS passwords can be managed by a remotely executed management service. A password reset command can be generated and transmitted to a client device. A management agent can execute the command and provide confirmation to a management service that the password has been updated.
Method for seamlessly recovering a single sign-on password in Wi-Fi multi-access point device network
A client device for use with a gateway device (or a Wi-Fi APD) with a key stored therein and an external server where an original singe sign on (SSO) password is stored. The client device transmits a one time password (OTP) request to the external server, obtains the OTP from the external server, transmits the OTP to the external server to authenticate the client device, transmits an encrypted SSO password request to the external server, onboards the gateway device using a temporary password, receives the encrypted SSO password from the external server, obtains the key from the gateway device, decrypts the encrypted SSO password using the key to obtain the SSO password, and changes the temporary password of the gateway device to the original SSO password.
