A method for detecting an object on a capacitive touch sensor of an operating terminal, wherein the object has an identifier that provides, whereby detectable information, where the identifier is detected as touch sensor data via the touch sensor and the touch sensor data is forwarded to an analysis unit, where the information of the identifier is ascertained in the analysis unit using the touch sensor data and the identifier comprises a marking, made of a conductive material, which has shapes that are connected by a connecting line, where the object is placed on the touch sensor such that the marking lies flat on the touch sensor that detects the shapes as contact points, and where the arrangement of the shapes and thus the detected contact points, provides the information.
Capacitive autocoding
A capacitive autocoding circuit is provided herein. A test strip may include an embedded code comprising one or more individually electrically isolated contacting pads associated with one of a plurality of predefined capacitive states. The respective capacitive states associated with each of the contacting pads together form a capacitive state sequence such that when the test strip is inserted into a diagnostic meter the sequence is read to identify data particular to the capacitive sequence and the test strip.
METHOD FOR PROVIDING A CODE PATTERN
In accordance with a first aspect of the present disclosure, a method for providing a code pattern which is readable by a sensor is conceived, the method comprising: defining a plurality of coding positions as a subset of positions in a two-dimensional matrix; including in said subset a plurality of positions which are diagonally adjacent to each other; selectively creating coding marks, such as coding dots, at the coding positions. In accordance with a second aspect of the present disclosure, a corresponding code pattern is provided.
MULTIPURPOSE DETECTION UNIT
A device (1, 33) for readout of and/or communication with a consumer carried token is proposed comprising a first area (5) for wireless radiofrequency detection and/or communication; and a second area (6) spatially separated from said first area for a wireless optical detection and/or communication; wherein said first area (5) is located above said second area (6). Said second area (6) comprises a cavity with at least a front opening (53) for inserting said token by a user, bordered by at least a bottom surface (7), a backside wall (41), and a top illumination unit (54), wherein said top illumination unit (54) comprises at least one essentially vertical translucent skirt (8) with its free edge (55) pointing towards the second area (6); as well as an opening (9). Behind and/or below said first area (5) a scanning light source as well as scanning camera is located, both aiming in an upward direction, and above said scanning light source as well as scanning camera a mirror (20) is mounted, for at the same time deflecting the scanning light beam (21) and directing it (22) into said second area (6) onto said bottom surface (7) through said opening (9) in an essentially vertical direction.
APPARATUS, METHODS AND COMPUTER PROGRAMS FOR ENABLING INFORMATION TO BE READ FROM AN APPARATUS
An apparatus and method and electronic device, the apparatus comprising: a memory element configured to store information; a switching element coupled to the memory element; wherein the switching element is configured to be switched from a first state to a second state in response to an input signal provided by a capacitive touch screen and wherein when the switching element is in the second state the information can be read from the memory element by the capacitive touch screen.
WRITING INFORMATION ON SUBSTRATE DISPLAYS
The present disclosure describes writing information on substrate displays. In an example, a display on a substrate is interfaced. The interfacing includes constraining a first longitudinal side of the substrate via a first actuable slot. Further, a second longitudinal side of the substrate opposite to the first longitudinal side is constrained via a second actuable slot. Thereby the substrate is constrained between the first and second slot with the display positioned therebetween. Further, the display is operated to write information thereon via an imager while the substrate is constrained between the first and second slot.
MEANS FOR TRANSMITTING DATA IN A UNIDIRECTIONAL OR BIDIRECTIONAL MANNER
In some embodiments, a system is provided for transmitting data between a device having a touch screen and a transmitting and/or receiving device. The touch screen may be a capacitive screen and the device may have at least one plate having at least one electrically conductive area, wherein the plate is operatively connected to the touch screen and at least one area is activated.
Apparatus to detect cable seating or disturbance
A displacement sensor that includes a stationary printed circuit board which includes a first capacitor pad, an indicator, and a battery electrically communicating with the first capacitor pad and the indicator and a sliding card which includes a second capacitor pad, the first capacitor pad and the second capacitor pad being orientated to face each other and in an overlapping relation to each other. An overlap being defined by the first capacitor pad and the second capacitor pad, wherein the overlap of the first capacitor pad and the second capacitor pad generates a capacitance, the generated capacitance changes as the sliding card moves as a result of a change in the overlap of the first capacitor pad and the second capacitor pad. The indicator is activated when the generated capacitance change reaches a threshold value.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RETRIEVING INFORMATION FROM AN INFORMATION CARRIER BY MEANS OF A CAPACITIVE TOUCH SCREEN
The present invention relates to a method comprising providing one or more information carrier(s) with a dielectric and/or conductive pattern and a detection device having a capacitive touch screen and inducing an interaction between the information carrier and the touch screen, wherein the interaction is based on a difference in the dielectric coefficient and/or the conductivity of the pattern and generates a touch signal and wherein the interaction is induced by relative motion between the information carrier and the touch screen. The invention further relates to a system comprising an information carrier comprising a dielectric and/or conductive pattern which encodes information and a detection device having a touch screen; the detection device is able to decode the information upon interaction between the information carrier and the touch screen, wherein the interaction is caused by a difference in the dielectric coefficient and/or the conductivity of the pattern.
