Payment card reading system having a protective flap
A transaction card reading system, which includes: a transaction card reader having a slot for inserting a transaction card; and a protective flap movable between two positions: a closed position wherein the flap closes the insertion slot, and an open position wherein the flap is disposed at least partly outside the insertion slot. The protective flap includes a closure element integrally mounted on a one-piece support element, the closure element being shaped and dimensioned to close the insertion slot in the closed position. The one-piece support element includes at least one elastically deformable portion so as to allow switching from the closed position to the open position and vice versa.
Kit and method for improving the security of a card reader
A kit and method for improving the security of a card reader having a plurality of wafers for insertion individually into the card reader via a card slot in the card reader, where each wafer is shaped and sized so that the wafer can be inserted through the card slot in an insertion direction and positioned in a cavity in the card reader. The plurality of wafers are configured to couple together when inside the cavity to form a stack of wafers.
Controller and system
According to one embodiment, a controller may include a user interface that is operable to receive input from a user to control an electronic system to which the controller may be coupled either directly or indirectly. The user interface may comprise an interface housing to which the user interface is coupled, the interface housing having a front portion and a rear portion, the front portion of which may contain the user interface. A controller housing may be coupled to the rear portion of the interface housing, the controller housing having a smaller perimeter than the interface housing. The controller housing may be comprised of at least one sidewall and a rear wall. At least one magnet may be coupled to the controller housing. The magnet(s) may be operable to hold the controller in position using magnetic force when the controller housing is inserted into a mounting receptacle.
METHOD FOR CARD READING, PAYMENT TERMINAL, AND TERMINAL DEVICE
The present solution provides a method for card reading, the method includes: turning on a read head of the magnetic stripe card, a read head of the contact IC card, and a coil of the non-contact IC card; detecting card reading actions; turning off, if the card inserting action is detected, the coil of the non-contact IC card; powering on the card when the card reaches a bottom of a card slot of the payment terminal; controlling, if the card is successfully powered on, the read head of contact IC card to read the card; controlling, if the card fails to be powered on, the read head of the magnetic stripe card to read the card when the card swiping action is detected; and controlling, if the card waving action is detected, the coil of the non-contact IC card to read card.
Connection device
A connection device electrically connects a textile to an electrical contact of a connector. The connection device is received in an insertion direction in the connector. The connection device includes a body and an attachment device. The body has a first end and a second end opposite the first end in the insertion direction. The body has a first surface extending between the first end and the second end and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The body has a portion at the first end extending essentially transversely from the first surface, the portion having an aperture into which the textile is inserted. The attachment device for the textile is connected to the second surface at the first end.
Movable card with handle for cleaning printed media transport system and method of using same
A cleaning system for cleaning a media transport device includes a cleaning substrate sized and configured to be inserted within at least a portion of a media travel pathway of a media transport device. The cleaning substrate comprises a cleaning face, along with a handle extending from the cleaning face. The handle is positioned to remain outside of the media transport device while the cleaning face is within the media transport device. The cleaning face comprises a plurality of cleaning elements, each of which is positioned to align with a belt, a drive roller, an idle roller, a drive roller/idle roller pair, or a sensor of the media transport device when the cleaning substrate within the media travel pathway. Methods of using a handled cleaning substrate are also disclosed.
MEDIA TRANSPORT DEVICE CLEANING CARD WITH RAISED SURFACE ELEMENT
A cleaning card for cleaning a media transport device includes a substantially planar surface. At least one of the raised surface elements includes at least one scraping element. Optionally, at least one of the raised surface elements also include surface slits that cause asymmetrical deformation of the raised surface.
CARD CONNECTOR
In a card connector, a main body has a plugging space formed therein and used to locate terminals of a terminal set, two sliding members of a sliding mechanism are movably disposed on two sides of the terminal set in the plugging space, respectively, and each sliding member has a supporting part protruded on a side thereof and extended into the plugging space, and elastic members are abutted between sides of the two sliding members and two opposite sidewalls of the plugging space, respectively; a terminal of a guiding rod is slid along a guiding groove, and other terminal of the guiding rod is inserted through the main body; a push plate of a shielding housing is abutted with the guiding rod, so that a preset electronic card can be stably inserted into or ejected out of the plugging space through the two sliding member.
Connector tray and connector
A connector tray inserted into a connector body in an insertion direction while accommodating an object to be connected includes a tray body configured to accommodate the object to be connected, a tray exterior portion connected to the tray body to be displaceable along the insertion direction, and a push-push mechanism disposed between the tray body and the tray exterior portion in a tandem arrangement and configured to displace the tray exterior portion in the insertion direction between a first position away from the tray body and a second position close to the tray body.
Methods and System for Magnetic Image Identification
Described is an invention that provides methods to identify key features from magnetic image captures of complex magnetic fields of randomly positioned and oriented magnetized particles in an object. The key features are described in a compact form to generate a unique identifier that services as a “fingerprint” of a chip.
