The recording control unit causes an internal region, located on an inner side of an edge region including the edge of the image, to be recorded using a dot having a smaller size than that of a dot used for recording of the edge region, or to be dot-off.

A color management system for a printing system includes a color management service that controls quality control operations, such as calibration and quality checks, over a plurality of printing devices. The color management service generates a target print job having a quality control target made of color patches. The color management service also encodes metadata within the target print job using a control strip. The control strip encodes the metadata using different color patches and color intensities. The control strip is scanned at the printing device to decode the metadata and enable a user interface to complete the quality control operation.

A printing control apparatus includes a processor configured to receive instruction information including print data and post-processing information indicating content of post-processing scheduled to be performed on paper on which an image based on the print data is printed, and, in a case where the post-processing included in the instruction information is not performed by a post-processing apparatus, generate an auxiliary image that assists a user to perform the post-processing, based on the post-processing information, and print the auxiliary image, together with the image based on the received print data, on the paper.

The method further includes, by a processor, receiving the real world image, processing the real world image to isolate and measure a portion of the surface on which print job content is to be applied, creating a printing template conforming to a shape and area of the isolated and measured portion of the surface, causing the real world image to be output on a display, and causing the display to output the printing template over the real world image, overlaid over the isolated and measured portion of the surface.

A controller of an editing device executes overlapping an input area image on a medium image indicating the printing medium, displaying the medium image and the input area image in a direction in which a width direction of the printing medium and an arrangement direction of the characters coincide with each other, determining whether the characters fit in the input area, when it is determined that the characters do not fit in the input area in the determining, rotating the input area image so that the arrangement direction of the characters in the input area coincides with a longitudinal direction of the printing medium, increasing a size of the input area image in the arrangement direction so that the characters fit in the input area, and displaying the input area image increased in size and the characters arranged in the input area.
