Further, the image forming apparatus sets, before starting image formation of one job including image formation, one candidate temperature of a plurality of predetermined candidate temperatures different from each other as the control temperature on the basis of the number of sheets to be used and a sheet size to be used in the image formation of the one job.

In an image forming apparatus, a scanning optical system forms on a photosensitive member N beam spots. Each beam spot scans along a scan line on the photosensitive member for one cycle. A center-to-center distance of any neighboring two beam spots is separated by M scan lines. M is a natural number larger than or equal to two. An image forming apparatus configured to perform high-quality image formation regardless of an accuracy of mounting surface emitting element array chips includes an image data generating portion configured to generate pixel data equivalent to 2,400 dpi; a joint correcting portion configured to correct a misregistration amount at a joint between a predetermined surface emitting element array chip and a surface emitting element array chip arranged adjacent to the predetermined surface emitting element array chip; and a resolution converting portion configured to convert a resolution of the pixel data from 2,400 dpi to 1,200 dpi. The joint correcting portion is configured to correct the misregistration amount at the joint with respect to pixel data obtained after the resolution thereof is converted by the resolution converting portion.

An image forming apparatus forms a color image on a recording medium by superimposing images of colors formed by image forming units. The apparatus includes a processor that: acquires a read image by reading the recording medium on which the color image has been formed; forms a register patch outside a job image forming region of the recording medium; and corrects image forming positions of the image forming units based on the read image that includes the register patch. The register patch includes: a leading end patch and a rear end patch formed with a reference color material; and one or more measurement target color patches formed with measurement target color materials between the leading end patch and the rear end patch. The hardware processor corrects the image forming positions based on relative positions of the leading end patch, the rear end patch, and the measurement target color patches.

The application relates to a method for controlling a printing process for printing a decorative target image on a substrate, comprising providing the decorative target image to be printed in the printing process by at least one decorative parameter data set, simulating the printing process in a simulation step based on the decorative parameter data set, at least one printing process parameter data set and stored historical printing data sets, such that a digital decorative image is generated, verifying the generated digital decorative image based on the decorative target image to be printed and at least one verification criterion, and if the verification criterion is met, outputting the printing process parameter data set used in the simulation step for performing the printing process.

A method of controlling an information processing apparatus configured to execute an extension application associated with printing data generation software operatable in the information processing apparatus to extend a function includes: adding information on an extended function to printing function information used in the printing data generation software; switching in accordance with a setting value stored in common information shared with the extension application whether to perform skip processing in which conversion processing of intermediate data performed by the printing data generation software is skipped; and editing the intermediate data in which the conversion processing is skipped in the printing data generation software in the switching and converting the edited intermediate data into printing data.
