CLIMATE CONTROL JAR
A climate control container maintains herbs fresh for extended periods of time. The container includes a container part with a cylindrical wall attached to a base forming an internal volume for herbs. A top, climate control part connects to the cylindrical wall of the container part. A layering system is placed in an upper portion of the internal volume that includes plates in a top-down vertical arrangement. The plates are formed with unique respective patterns of through-holes to limit air movement. A top cover part makes an air-tight connection to the cylindrical wall and/or the top, climate control part. Air-tight connecting the top, climate control part to the container part with the layering system and to the top cover part effects an air lock sealing the internal volume to air flow in or out and controls air flow through the vertical arrangement to limit air turbulence.

PASSIVE HUMIDITY CONTROL DEVICE
A passive humidity control device for a cigar humidor is generally rectangular in shape and has a lower reservoir portion which serves as a storage tank for a water supply, an upper evaporation chamber and a wide, flat ribbon-like wick that has a main body portion that sits within a trough along the length of the evaporation chamber. Opposing ends of the wick extend down into the reservoir through transverse wicking slots or conduits in the trough bottom wall. A central folded portion of the wick may also extend down into the reservoir through a central wicking conduit in the trough bottom wall, essentially separating the trough into two troughs and two evaporation chambers. A salt-based evaporative control paste is coated onto the main body portion of the wick within the evaporation chambers to regulate evaporation of water from the wick to a desired humidity.

CIGAR MOISTENING DEVICE AND METHOD
A moistening device for a cigar includes a housing with porous mesh lining and removable cap, sized to receive a cigar; a docking station which receives the cigar housing in a slotted socket, the docking station including a water reservoir with heating element, temperature sensor, water volume sensor components; printed circuit board components which include a button to activate the device, an LED indicator light to communicate status, and circuitry to receive signals from the sensor components and control the heating element accordingly; and a power unit that receives A/C power and which and receives signals to the various components of the docking station. Moistening of a cigar is achieved by heating the water in the reservoir to steaming temperature, and channeling the resultant steam up through the docking station and into the housing containing a cigar, thereby restoring humidity levels of the cigar to provide an improved smoking experience.
