A method is provided of digitally imaging a secure portion and a non-secure portion of scratch-off-coating protected documents of at least one game using middleware. The method includes: (a) generating the secure variable indicia in non-vector raster format; (b) generating vector graphics to be imaged on physical document locations; (c) assigning the secure variable indicia in a non-vector raster format to documents in and shuffling the documents throughout a print run; and (d) linking via middleware the secure variable indicia in the non-vector raster format to associated vector graphics variable indicia to be digitally imaged on the documents and to generate vector graphics-formatted data for each document in the print run. The secure variable indicia assignment and shuffling are executed by non-vector raster game generation software output that is reinterpreted by the middleware to produce related vector graphic output for the secure variable indicia.

Examples disclosed herein relate to receiving a request to perform an operation on a document, determining whether the document complies with a plurality of operation policies, and in response to determining that the document complies with the plurality of operation policies, providing a notification that the operation is ready to be performed and digitally signing the document.

Provided is an industrial printing system that performs distributed processing of security content in peer-to-peer variable printing for production printing. The variable attribute generation unit generates variable attribute information including content information of variable content for which a security level is set in variable data for variable printing. The security determination unit selects other print server capable of processing the variable content based on the security level of the content information of the variable attribute information generated by the variable attribute generation unit. The processing management unit requests the other print server selected by the security determination unit to process the variable content according to the security level.

A processing apparatus includes: a processing unit that performs plural predetermined processes; a display unit; a creation unit that creates a first process receiving portion and a second process receiving portion, each of which receives an instruction to any one of the plural predetermined processes on the display unit; and an execution portion that executes the process, in a case where the instruction is received by the first process receiving portion, after receiving the instruction again, whereas, in a case where the instruction is received by the second process receiving portion, the execution portion executing the process without receiving the instruction again.

Example implementations relate to prohibited previews. The system may include a computing device including instructions executable to send a first image to a printing device, wherein the printing device is prohibited to display a preview of the first image and wherein the computing device is not authorized to print the first image utilizing the printing device. The instructions may be executable to send a second image to the printing device, wherein the second image includes a graphical identifier of a sender. The system may include a printing device including instructions executable to display the second image, receive an authorization to print the non-displayable first image, and print the first image.

An apparatus and method for setting authentication information of an information processing apparatus is provided. When a setting of a password to a PostScript (PS) interpreter is performed by a PS command, the password is stored in a volatile memory. When the setting of a password to the PS interpreter is performed through a setting screen, the password is stored in a nonvolatile memory, and thereafter, stored in the volatile memory.

A function of a device is displayed as a first display on a client device, and local user authentication information is displayed as a second display according to the function of the device selected on the first display on the client device.

In one example, a method is disclosed in which a key is generated in a client device when a print job is triggered at the client device. The key and the print job are provided to a printing device. Further, a first thumbnail of a page of the print job is generated in the client device. The page is determined as a function of the key. A first secure image is generated in the client device using the key and the first thumbnail. The first secure image is shared with the printing device. The first secure image is verified by the printing device using the provided key and then the print job is released upon successful verification.

Example implementations relate to prohibited previews. The system may include a computing device including instructions executable to send a first image to a printing device, wherein the printing device is prohibited to display a preview of the first image and wherein the computing device is not authorized to print the first image utilizing the printing device. The instructions may be executable to send a second image to the printing device, wherein the second image includes a graphical identifier of a sender. The system may include a printing device including instructions executable to display the second image, receive an authorization to print the non-displayable first image, and print the first image.

An information processing apparatus which is capable of reducing the risk of storage device failure. The information processing apparatus is equipped with a storage device that can be accessed a limited number of times. A control unit performs control to write data into the storage device. The control unit determines whether or not to allow writing into the storage device based on an operating state of the information processing apparatus.
