This invention relates to a square with rounded angles smart card, in a non-conventional size, with a plurality of electronic circuits embedded in a specified pattern and assigned to different functionalities. This smart card with the means of a wired or contactless reader-writer apparatus, can be used for commercial, business or payment transactions and offers a number of advantages versus the old cards.

LOTTERY TRANSACTION MECHANISMS

A number of mechanisms can reduce transaction costs and increase the economic viability of a number of products. A combination instant lottery ticket and debit card makes it possible to issue prepaid debit cards having a relatively low monetary value. A combination on-line ticket or receipt and debit card can automate the prize paying process, simplifying the retailer's responsibilities while reducing the potential for fraud. Various cash flow and authentication techniques, such as age and location verification, nano payment methods and spam filters based on these mechanisms are also described. Instant lottery tickets, and in particular, losing tickets, can be provided with a small residual value by placing account information on the ticket. In another version, a lottery ticket can be combined with a payment card that operates as a closed payment system whereby the payment card can only be used with a specified vendor.

Self declaring device for a vehicle using restrict traffic lanes

The present disclosure provides various examples of a self-declaring wireless device installed on a vehicle operable to automatically detect, determine and declare occupancy information of the vehicle traveling on a restricted traffic lane to an electronic toll collection (ETC) system. According to one aspect, a process for performing self-declaration by a vehicle traveling on a restricted traffic lane includes the steps of: receiving sensor data collected by one or more sensors installed on the vehicle; determining occupancy data of the vehicle based on the received sensor data; and controlling a wireless transceiver installed on the vehicle to communicate with an electronic toll collection (ETC) system associated with the restricted traffic lane based on the determined occupancy data.

Tag with tunable retro-reflectors

A data readout device is provided and includes a reflective base, reflective sidewalls disposed about the reflective base and an actuation system. The actuation system is configured to modify relative positioning of one of the reflective base and the reflective sidewalls to either reflect incoming radiation back toward an origin thereof or to reflect the incoming radiation away from the origin thereof.

RFID DEVICE

A card socket configured for placing a subscriber identification module (SIM) or a memory card includes a first interface, where the first interface is coupled to the SIM or the memory card through a switch. The first interface is further coupled to a first terminal of the switch. A SIM system is coupled to a second terminal of the switch. A memory card system is coupled to a third terminal of the switch. A detection circuit is configured to detect that a card placed in the terminal device is a SIM or a memory card. A control circuit controls the first terminal of the switch to couple to the second terminal of the switch or controls the first terminal of the switch to connect to the third terminal of the switch, based on a detection result of the detection circuit.

CONTACTLESS CONDIMENT DISPENSER

A contactless or touchless dispenser is provided, such as for condiments or similar food service related items. The dispenser allows a user to obtain a quantity of a condiment without being required to touch the condiment dispenser. The dispenser includes a controller for controlling a dispensing mechanism, such as in response to an instruction received from a remote device, or by touchless input, such as by detecting a utensil. The controller may control the dispensing mechanism to cause the dispenser to dispense condiment for a particular period of time or to dispense a particular quantity of condiment.

Anticipation and warning of potential loss/theft for portable personal items
11195396 · 2021-12-07 · ·

Personal portable items are subject to potential loss or misplacement by their owners or authorized users. A system and method is operative with personal portable items which are locally associated with a processor, memory, and sensors (either built-in or via attached sensing device). The memory stores environmental parameters which indicate a potential chance or possibility that an item may be lost, stolen, or misplaced in the near-term, proximate future. The stored parameters are customized to the historical or expected uses of the portable item by a particular user or owner in particular, user-specific contexts. The sensors sense the environment of the portable item in real-time. If the sensed environment or sensed item usage matches the environmental parameters which indicate risk of loss or misplacement, an alert element signals the portable item's user, enabling the user to take anticipatory action to prevent item loss. In an embodiment, at least one first portable item of two or more portable items which are both intended to be substantially on-person of an authorized user, is configured to monitor a status of a second other portable item with which it is paired. If the first portable item detects an anomalous status of the second portable item, the first portable item alerts the authorized user that the second item is at risk of being lost, misplaced, or stolen.

FINANCIAL CARD WITH DYNAMIC VIEWING ANGLES TO BLOCK CARD INFORMATION

A method and system of making a secure financial card with dynamic viewing angles is provided. The secure financial card includes a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The financial card includes at least a first portion of indicia and a second portion of the indicia indicative of the card information. The first portion of the indicia and the second portion of the indicia are configured with respective viewing angles and printed on one of the first surface and the second surface. The financial card includes a slide device moveable to different positions associated with different portions of indicia. The slide device allows the respective portion of the indicia to be viewable from different viewing angles. An account number of the financial card is read by rotating the financial card and full card information is unable to be captured by an image of the financial card.
