Dual frequency NFC/RFID card for self service baggage check and method

A card is made from rigid plastic confirming to ISO 7810 ID-Type 1 card constructed of PVC, PET, Styrene, Polypropylene, Tyvek, or other synthetic material that is 7 mil to 30 mil thick (180 to 760 microns) with both an embedded High Frequency (HF) RFID chip and a Ultra High Frequency (UHF) chip; each chip is affixed to its own unique antenna that is appropriately tuned to operate in its designated frequency range in a passive manner such that the antenna are not physically connected to a power source such as a battery; the HF chip is encoded using NFC Data Exchange Format (NDEF) with code that directs a NFC enabled smartphone, tablet, or similar device to a dedicated website or app where it initializes the interaction by delivering in the NFC encode string identification data unique to that card's UHF RFID chip; the NFC encode string may include such data as the UHF chip's Tag Identification Number (TID), a serial number assigned to the tag that is encoded into the UHF chip's EPC memory; the delivery of the unique identifying information from the card's UHF chip allows the website or app to associate the tag with the passenger's itinerary by associating it with a ticket number, reservation number, frequent traveler number, or other identification element that is unique to the specific passenger for whom the tag is associated; wherein once the card's NFC is used to link the tag to the reservation the bag can be tracked through the transport carrier's baggage handling system using the card's embedded UHF RFID capability.

Approaches herein provide a transaction card including an interchangeable ID chip. In some approaches, a transaction card may include a body having a first main side opposite a second main side, a first side opposite a second side, and a first end opposite a second end. The transaction card may further include an insert extending within a cutout section of the body, wherein the cutout section extends towards a center of the body from the first side or the second side, and wherein the insert includes an identification chip.

METHOD FOR UNIQUELY MARKING OBJECTS
20230401411 · 2023-12-14 ·

A method for uniquely marking an object, wherein a random distribution of individual pigment domains is applied to a surface of the object, and wherein a list of distances of the individual pigment domains from one another is measured and stored in a database. Also a corresponding method for identifying an object by: capturing an image of the pigment domains, identifying the two-dimensional coordinates of each pigment domain captured in the image, determining the two-dimensional distance of each pair of two pigment domains and/or the angle of each triplet of pigment domains, storing the distances and/or angles determined in the step before in a list, storing the list in the database, the list enriched with meta-information about the manufacturing and/or finishing parameters of the object, applying a database identification as an information unit to the surface of the object, the information unit uniquely assignable to the database.

Cards and devices with magnetic emulators with zoning control and advanced interiors

A payment card (e.g., credit and/or debit card) is provided with a magnetic emulator operable to act as a magnetic stripe read-head detector and a data transmitter. A multiple layer flexible PCB may be fabricated to include multiple magnetic emulators. An emulator may include a coil that includes magnetic, ferromagnetic, or ferromagnetic, material in the coil's interior. Coils may be associated with zones. As a read-head is detected to move from zone-to-zone, coils may be activated to transmit information in those zones.

IC card for authentication and a method for authenticating the IC card

An IC card includes a first visible layer comprising a nonmetallic natural material having a physical structure including a unique visual pattern. The IC card further includes a storage device configured to store a reference image of the unique visual pattern. The reference image is a scan of the unique visual pattern. The reference image is configured to be visually compared with the unique visual pattern for authentication. A second layer is included on a bottom surface of the first visible layer. The first visible layer and the second layer are laminated together. Each of the second layer and the nonmetallic natural material of the first visible layer have a same size to define a shape of the IC card.

METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL SIGNATURE
20210200855 · 2021-07-01 ·

An authentication method involves comparing a 2D description of an authentication device, referred to as a subsequent description, with an original 2D description by choosing, from several previously established original 2D descriptions, a 2D description established from a point of view similar to the one used to establish the subsequent 2D description. Advantageously, the optical characteristics of the authentication device vary so little when it is viewed from neighboring points of view that the device can be recognized from most of the points of view, and the original 2D descriptions have been established from neighboring points of view, which form a substantially continuous domain. In an improved version, a three-dimensional description of the authentication device, referred to as a 3D description, is reconstructed from several original 2D descriptions, which makes it possible to predict the appearance thereof from a plurality of different points of view.

Method for connecting an item of dishware to an information carrier, and apparatus comprising an item of dishware and an information carrier

The present invention concerns a method of connecting an item of dishware (1) to a contactlessly readable electronic information carrier (2) comprising the steps: providing the item of dishware (1), wherein the item of dishware (1) comprises a material selected from a group consisting of glass, ceramic and plastic or a combination thereof, and attaching the information carrier to the item of dishware. Contactlessly readable electronic information carriers applied to a self-adhesive carrier film are known. They can also be adhesively bonded to an item of dishware for identification thereof.
