DOSE COUNTING MECHANISM
A dose counting mechanism for indicating the quantity of dosage available within a metered dose inhaler having a canister with an aerosol fluid and a housing body for housing the canister, wherein a wall of the housing body includes formations to support a resilient element, a wheel formation, a elongate threaded element, and a threaded formation including a pointer. The depressing of the canister to release aerosol fluid displaces the resilient element which engages with the wheel formation to rotate the wheel formation. The elongate threaded element engages with the wheel formation such that the rotation of the wheel formation causes rotational movement of the elongate element. The threaded formation engages with the elongate element whereby the rotational movement of the elongate element causes the linear displacement of the threaded formation and the pointer, whereby the position of the pointer indicates the quantity of fluid within the canister.
Indicating device
An indicating device for a dispenser that dispenses metered dosages of a medicament from a container having a valve moveable between a closed position and an open position. The indicating device includes an indicator housing having a first cover with a first vertical wall and a second cover with a second vertical wall. One of the first or second covers includes a base defining a lower surface of the indicator housing, and the other of the first or second covers includes a top defining an upper surface of the indicator housing. The first and second covers are joined with the first and second vertical walls and the base and the top defining an interior space therebetween. An indicator is rotatably disposed in the interior space of the indicator housing, with the indicator including dosage indicia. A dispensing device includes a dispenser housing and an indicating device.
Dose counter for a metered-dose inhaler
A dose counter for counting doses of medicament dispensed by or remaining in a metered-dose inhaler. The dose counter includes: a rotatably mounted gear wheel having a circular arrangement of ratchet teeth; a display coupled to the gear wheel, the display having a visible array of dose counting indicia indexable in response to rotary motion of the gear wheel; and an actuator mechanism having a driver for rotatably driving the gear wheel in response to the dispensation of a medicament dose, the driver being arranged to engage the ratchet teeth of the gear wheel. The actuator mechanism includes a pivotally mounted lever having an input portion. The lever is arranged to amplify a linear stroke at the input portion such that a linear stroke of the driver exceeds the linear input stroke. By amplifying the stroke, the risk of undercounting due to insufficient stroke length may be reduced.
Dispenser
Dispensers, in particular dispensers for dispensing a dose of a gaseous, gas borne or droplet substance from a substance source and dispensers containing dosage counters are described herein.
LIMIT VALUE DETECTION DEVICE COMPRISING A COUNTING UNIT
A limit value detection device for multiple detection of a limit value event has a catch mechanism manufactured using microstructuring technology, having a first and a second catch element, each having a plurality of catches, a pawl configured to engage in a catch intermediate space between two adjacent catches of the first catch element, the first catch element being movable relative to the pawl in a freewheeling direction and movement thereof relative to the pawl in a blocking direction being blockable by the pawl, and an actuating device configured to move the first catch element and the pawl relative to each other in a catch-by-catch manner in the freewheeling direction. The first and second catch elements together form a counting unit in which the counter status for indicating the detected limit value events is determined based on the position of the two catch elements relative to each other.
MANIPULATOR ASSISTING DEVICE AND MANIPULATOR SYSTEM
A manipulator assisting device includes a manipulator assisting device main body connectable to a proximal end portion of a manipulator with the proximal end portion attachable to and detachable from a medical device, the manipulator having a driven gear that engages with a gear in the medical device when connected to the medical device, and an end effector that operates by a power transmitted from the driven gear. The manipulator assisting device main body includes an assisting gear that engages with the driven gear when the manipulator assisting device main body is connected to the manipulator, a handle that transmits a drive force to the assisting gear, and a main body portion attached to the assisting gear and the handle.
