CARD READER VERIFICATION
20220414650 · 2022-12-29 ·

A card reader of a terminal is cryptographically verified upon initialization, power up, connection, or start of day processing of the terminal. A cryptographic and signed token is provided from and verified by an Encrypted Personal Identification Number (PIN) pad (EPP) of the terminal. Each time the reader initializes, the token is verified by the EPP and a new token is generated and provided to the reader for use during a next initialization cycle of the reader. If the reader lacks a token when the EPP has record that is should have the token, the reader is not authorized to perform card transactions for the terminal. If a token provided by the reader during an initialization cycle is not verified, the reader is not authorized to perform card transactions for the terminal.

DYNAMICALLY SHARING AN EXCHANGE ITEM

A method includes receiving, by a marketplace server, a sharing request regarding an exchange item from a first computing device, where the sharing request indicates a sharing approach for sharing the exchange item with one or more other computing devices and includes dynamic exchange item information generated by the first computing device. The method further includes verifying, by the marketplace server, the dynamic exchange item information received from the first computing device. When the verification is favorable, the method includes generating shared exchange item security parameters for the one or more other computing devices, generating shared exchange item information in accordance with the sharing approach, and sending the shared exchange item security parameters and the shared exchange item information to the one or more other computing devices for facilitating utilization of the exchange item by the one or more other computing devices in accordance with the shared approach.

Automated teller machines (ATMs) having offline functionality

A device may receive customer data, and store the customer data in a secure memory device of the device. The device may implement a backup mode in which the device utilizes the customer data to authorize requests based on determining that the device lacks a network connection. The device may receive, when the device is in the backup mode, a request for currency that includes authentication information. The device, while in the backup mode, may authorize the request for currency based on comparing the authentication information and the customer data. The device may dispense currency based on a result of comparing the authentication information and the customer data. The device may store transaction data associated with dispensing of the currency to permit the transaction data to be transmitted when the network connection is restored.

Cloud computing platform, method and system having a payments platform for integrating a synchronous payment gateway service with the cloud computing platform

A cloud-based computing system is provided that includes a payments platform for integrating synchronous payment gateway services with a cloud computing platform so that clients of the cloud computing platform can perform payment transactions with customers via the cloud computing platform. The synchronous payment gateways that include a particular synchronous payment gateway. The cloud computing platform can include a multitenant database system that provides applications and services to a plurality of clients, and a payments platform module. Each client can be, for example, a tenant or organization of the cloud computing platform that transacts business with one or more customers via a synchronous payment gateway. The payments platform module has a pluggable architecture for integrating payment gateway adapters with the cloud computing platform.
