A remote user connected to a user on site can share images, measurements and other data to conduct an examination of the building such as an appraisal. A processor coupled to an image sensor can be configured to receive a gross floor area of the building. Images of an interior room of the building are stored in memory. The processor determines a planar surface in the images corresponding to a floor surface of the interior room and a plurality of corners in the images forming vertices of a bounded floor area on the floor surface. The processor can compute an adjusted floor area of the building that includes the bounded floor area subtracted from the gross floor area.

The processor may be configured to: (i) generate a plurality of predesignated policy levels having a maximum reimbursement amount for a user based at least in part upon user data, (ii) prompt the user to select a predesignated policy level of the plurality of predesignated policy levels that includes an insurance policy covering one or more item categories up to the associated maximum reimbursement amount, (iii) store the selected predesignated policy level, (iv) receive a claim from the user, (v) determine, in response to the claim and based at least in part upon the selected predesignated policy level and the associated maximum reimbursement amount, an actual reimbursement amount for each insured item category of the one or more item categories, and (vi) provide a payment device to the user having reimbursement controls that provide the actual reimbursement amount by insured item category.

One or more videos are presented to a user. The videos include a plurality of hidden artifacts. The videos also include advertisements. The user looks for the hidden artifacts in the videos. Whenever the user finds the hidden artifacts in one of the videos, the user selects locations in the videos that correspond to the hidden artifacts. A server may receive a request to begin a value determination of a vehicle associated with the user. The server may receive first data comprising: vehicle-specific identifying information, and multimedia content showing a first aspect of the vehicle. The user may be directed to place the vehicle within a predetermined staging area. The server may receive, from one or more image sensors associated with the staging area, second data comprising multimedia content showing a second aspect of the vehicle. The server may create a feature vector comprising the first data and the second data. The feature vector may be inputted into a machine learning algorithm corresponding to the vehicle-specific identifying information of the vehicle. Based on the machine learning algorithm, the server may determine a value of the vehicle.

One variation of a method for deploying fixed cameras within a store includes: dispatching a robotic system to autonomously navigate along a set of inventory structures in the store and generate a spatial map of the store during a scan cycle; generating an accessibility heatmap representing accessibility of regions of the store to the robotic system based on the spatial map; generating a product value heatmap for the store based on locations and sales volumes of products in the store; accessing a number of fixed cameras allocated to the store; generating a composite heatmap for the store based on the accessibility heatmap and the product value heatmap; identifying a subset of inventory structures occupying a set of locations within the store corresponding to critical amplitudes in the composite heatmap; and generating a prompt to install the number of fixed cameras facing the subset of inventory structures in the store.
