METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RANKING CONTENT ITEMS BASED ON USER ENGAGEMENT SIGNALS
The present teaching relates to method, system, and programs for training a ranking model for ranking content items. In one example, a set of content items is obtained. A plurality types of online user activities performed with respect to the set of content items are obtained. For each of the set of content items, a plurality of user engagement scores are determined. Each of the plurality of user engagement scores is determined based on a corresponding one of the plurality types of online user activities. For each of the set of content items, an aggregated score is calculated based on the plurality of user engagement scores to generate aggregated scores. A ranking model is trained based on the aggregated scores.
CALCULATING USER EXPERIENCE SCORES
Examples relate to calculating user experience scores for applications. The examples disclosed herein collect, for each of at least two frames of each of at least two user sessions of an application, a set of user event data items representing user experiences from the perspective of a user device during a corresponding frame of the at least two frames of a user session. A frame score is calculated for each of the at least two frames in each of the at least two user sessions by analyzing the frame's set of user event data items. A user session score is calculated for each of the at least two user sessions by averaging the frame scores for the at least two frames in the user session of the at least two user sessions. A user experience score may then be calculated for the application by averaging the user session scores of each of the at least two user sessions.
PARCEL DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD
A parcel delivery system and method. The parcel delivery system and method includes a user application loaded on mobile computing devices of a plurality of users and a service application loaded on mobile computing devices of a plurality of service providers. The users may create digital posts including information about parcels they would like to ship through the user application. The digital posts are accessible the user service provides on the service application. The service providers may select a digital post, pick up the parcel and deliver the parcel to a destination. The user may track the service provider during delivery via the user and service applications.

Method and apparatus for real-time personalization
A computer-implemented method for generating content recommendations for content items, each content item associated with one of a plurality of customers, the method comprising: receiving, by a network-connected server, a content request from a requesting user, the content request comprising a user identifier and a customer identifier; retrieving request parameters from a computer-implemented parameter service, the request parameters comprising indicia of a plurality of models and parameters for the models; retrieving user data comprising a set of indicia of recommendable resources associated with the customer identifier; routing the content request, request parameters and user data to a plurality of ranking and optimization component, each component generating a recommendation score for each recommendable resource; generating content recommendations based on the recommendation score which content recommendations are returned to the requesting user and stored by the server as a recommendation event within a repository of recommendation events; evaluating the relative efficacy of the one or more components, which models are returned to the requesting user and stored by the server as a recommendation event within a repository of recommendation events; evaluating the relative efficacy of the one or more components through continued usage; optimizing model efficacy by updating parameters within the parameter service based on the relative efficacy.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROVIDING A VIRTUAL GUESTBOOK
A system and method are disclosed for accessing, by a computing device, a database that includes: business information representing a plurality of respective businesses that sell products and/or services to customers and customer information representing a plurality of respective customers, that purchase the products and feedback information representing submissions from the respective customers regarding experiences of the customers in connection with the respective businesses. Information associated with a sale of a product and/or service is processed including to associate a code with the sale. The customer is prompted to submit feedback information associated with the business and/or the sale of the product and/or service, and the feedback information is processed to store the feedback in the database and to provide the feedback information in a virtual guestbook associated with the business.
