Watermark recovery using audio and video watermarking
The disclosed embodiments relate to automatic content recognition and recovery of metadata associated with multimedia content. Embodiments include the use of audio watermarks, video watermarks or both to recover metadata. Embodiments also describe improved video watermark embedding techniques including quantization-based video watermarking in the spatial domain and quantization-based video watermarking in frequency domain, as well as improved video watermark detection techniques based on multiple video frames. Embodiments also include improvements to payload structure and improvements to payload recovery.
SERIALIZED DIGITAL WATERMARKING FOR VARIABLE DATA PRINTING
Digital watermarking is adapted for the variable data printing. A reference signal serves as a proxy for optimizing the embedding a watermark in a host image to be printed. Using the reference signal, embedding parameters are generated, which are a function of constraints such as visual quality and robustness of the machine readable data. Adjustments needed to embed a unique payload in each printed piece are generated using the embedding parameters. These adjustments are stored in a manner that enables them to be efficiently obtained and applied within the RIP or press during operation of the press. Various other methods, system configurations and applications are also detailed.
DIGITAL WATERMARKING APPLICATIONS
In one aspect, assembly of multi-part food packaging is checked by reference to payloads of steganographically-encoded digital watermarks printed across the packaging components. Marking all surfaces of the packaging components allows arbitrary orientation of feed stock in assembly equipment, and wide latitude in placement of inspection cameras along the packaging line. In another aspect, a scanner at a retail checkout station is alert to any gap detected in steganographic encoding on retail product packaging and, if found, alerts an operator to possible presence of an adhesive label with a misleading barcode. A great variety of others features and arrangements are also detailed.
PROCESSING A MACHINE-READABLE LINK
Approaches for processing a machine-readable link are described. The machine-readable link is readable by a computing system to obtain access to digital content using a communication network.
Method and system for embedding and detecting a pattern
A method of embedding a pattern as a watermark into a content segment. Prior to modifying the content segment, an impulse response of a filter to be used for detecting the pattern is determined; the time-reversed impulse response of the filter is inserted into the segment as the set of imperceptible features; wherein the filter is an infinite impulse response filter having a semi-white frequency spectrum and provides a pseudo-random time-domain response.
CONTENT IDENTIFICATION AND PROCESSING INCLUDING LIVE BROADCAST CONTENT
Methods and devices are provided to identify live broadcast content that are multiple identities. One method includes is based on-the-fly modification of the broadcast content during broadcast and includes receiving the content that already includes pre-existing identification information that is embedded in the content, embedding a number of additional watermarks into the content as the content is being transmitted for live broadcast, where the plurality of additional watermarks includes a new identification information for the content. Just at the embedding of the additional watermark is commented, the pre-existing identification information, the new identification information and a temporal relationship between the pre-existing and additional watermarks are transmitted to a remote database, which can be used to enable reception of information based on the pre-existing identification.
Method and device to embed watermark in uncompressed video data
A system and method to watermark an uncompressed content received at a client device in a compressed form and encrypted by at least one content key, said content key as well as watermark instruction forming Conditional Access Module (CAS) data, said CAS data being encrypted by a transmission key and comprising at least one signature to authenticate the CAS data, said client device comprising a CAS configured to process the CAS data, a descrambler having an input to receive the encrypted compressed content and an output to produce an compressed content, a decoder to convert the compressed content into uncompressed content, a watermark inserter connected to the output of the decoder, a secure activation module connected with the watermark inserter, a secure element connected with the watermark inserter and the secure activation module.
SYSTEM FOR MITIGATING THE PROBLEM OF DEEPFAKE MEDIA CONTENT USING WATERMARKING
Watermarking media content, in combination with blockchain and distributed storage networks, prevents the proliferation of Deepfake content. Digital watermarks are embedded in the audio and video tracks of video clips of trusted content producers at the time the videos are captured or before they are distributed. The watermarks are detected at the social media network's portals, nodes, and back ends. The embedded watermark imparts a unique identifier to the video, that links it to a blockchain. The watermarks also allow video source tracking, integrity verification, and alteration localization. The watermark detectors can be standalone software applications, or they can be integrated with other applications. They are used to perform three main tasks: (1) they alert the Internet user when he watches an inauthentic news video, so that he may discard it, (2) they prevent a Deepfake content from propagating through the network (3) they perform forensic analysis to help track and remove Deepfake content postings.
