IDENTIFYING WRITING SYSTEMS UTILIZED IN DOCUMENTS

Systems and methods for identifying writing systems utilized in documents. An example method comprises: receiving a document image; splitting the document image into a plurality of image fragments; generating, by a neural network processing the plurality of image fragments, a plurality of probability vectors, wherein each probability vector of the plurality of probability vectors is produced by processing a corresponding image fragments and contains a plurality of numeric elements, and wherein each numeric element of the plurality of numeric elements reflects a probability of the image fragment containing a text associated with a respective writing system; computing an aggregated probability vector by aggregating the plurality of probability vectors, wherein each numeric element of the aggregated probability vector reflects a probability of the image containing a text associated with a writing system that is identified by an index of the numeric element within the aggregated probability vector; and responsive to determining that a maximum numeric element of the aggregated probability vector exceeds a predefined threshold value, concluding that the document image contains one or more symbols associated with a respective writing system.

INSPECTION APPARATUS CAPABLE OF REDUCING INSPECTION WORKLOAD, METHOD OF CONTROLLING INSPECTION APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

An inspection apparatus that is capable of reducing a workload of an inspection operator. The inspection apparatus performs inspection of a print product. An image reading section reads the print product and generates a scanned image of the print product. A reference image analysis section detects a line region and a photo region from the scanned image. The detected line region is determined as one of a character region and a bar code region. Settings of the inspection of the print product are set based on a result of the detection and a result of the determination. The inspection of the print product is performed based on the settings of the inspection.

Aligning and merging contents from multiple collaborative workstations

A method for aligning and merging contents from multiple collaborative workstations. Collaborative workstations are multiple workstations that contribute respective contents to be combined into a single computer-generated output. The content generated from each collaborative workstation is the collaborative content. Individual collaborative content is created from each workstation by a user drawing on a piece of paper that is placed on a workspace surface of the workstation. Collaborative contents contributed by multiple workstations are aligned such that a combined product (i.e., a single computer-generated output) including both virtual and physical content appears to be collaboratively drawn by multiple users on a single piece of paper.

IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS

An image processing method and apparatus belong to the technical field of communication. The method comprises: acquiring a target image including a shadow; and removing the shadow from the target image based on a target model, to acquire an image after shadow removal, wherein the target model is a model trained based on a target image sample including a shadow and a shadow image sample corresponding to the target image sample, the target image sample is a sample generated based on a captured shadow-free image sample and a preset emulated imaging condition, and the shadow image sample is a sample determined based on the target image sample and the shadow-free image sample.

GENERALIZED ANOMALY DETECTION

Described are methods and systems for training a system for detecting anomalies in images of documents in a class of documents. A plurality of training document images of training documents in a class of documents are obtained. For each training document image, the training document image is segmented into a plurality of region of interest (ROI) images, each ROI image corresponding to a respective ROI of the training document. For each ROI image, a plurality of transformations are applied to the ROI image to generate respective transform-specific features for the ROI image and respective transform-specific anomaly scores from the transform-specific features. Based on the respective anomaly scores of the plurality of training document images, a transform-specific threshold is computed for each transformation to separate document images containing an anomaly from document images not containing an anomaly.

Systems and methods for document image processing using neural networks

Disclosed herein are embodiments of an optical character recognition pre-processing software system, which is integrated into a language translation system to provide automated cleaning and correction of noisy and degraded document images to enable seamless and efficient optical character recognition processing and machine translation of information within the document images.

A software development infrastructure can enable user developers to select remote hardware devices to develop and test their software programs. For some tests and development activity, physical access to the remote device can be provided by the infrastructure administrator by replacing the internal calls of an application with mimic code, which can respond to application requests for sensor data, as if the user was physically handling the remote device at the same location.

Enhancing documents portrayed in digital images

The present disclosure is directed toward systems and methods that efficiently and effectively generate an enhanced document image of a displayed document in an image frame captured from a live image feed. For example, systems and methods described herein apply a document enhancement process to a displayed document in an image frame that result in an enhanced document image that is cropped, rectified, un-shadowed, and with dark text against a mostly white background. Additionally, systems and method described herein determine whether a stored digital content item includes a displayed document. In response to determining that a stored digital content item does include a displayed document, systems and methods described herein generate an enhanced document image of a displayed document included in the stored digital content item.

System, method, and computer program product for authenticating identification documents

Provided is a computer-implemented method for authenticating an identification document. The method includes determining, with at least one processor, whether image data associated with the identification document has at least one predetermined indicia. In response to determining that the image data has the at least one predetermined indicia, the method includes determining whether the at least one predetermined indicia corresponds to at least one invalidation mark on the identification document, and, in response to determining that the at least one predetermined indicia corresponds to the at least one invalidation mark, determining, that the identification document is invalid. In response to determining that the identification document is invalid, the method includes preventing or causing the prevention of at least one action from being performed. A system and computer program product for authenticating identification documents are also disclosed.
