Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods and resulting structures for integrated circuits having metal-insulator-metal (MIM) capacitors that serve as both decoupling capacitors and crack stops. In a non-limiting embodiment, an interconnect is formed on a first portion of a substrate in an interior region of the integrated circuit. A second portion of the substrate is exposed in an edge region of the integrated circuit. A MIM capacitor is formed over the second portion of the substrate in the edge region. The MIM capacitor includes two or more plates and one or more dielectric layers. Each dielectric layer is positioned between an adjacent pair of the two or more plates and a portion of the two or more plates extends over the interconnect in the interior region. A plate of the two or more plates is electrically coupled to a last metal wiring level of the interconnect.

Automated categorization and assembly of low-quality images into electronic documents

An apparatus includes a memory and processor. The memory stores OCR and NLP algorithms. The processor receives an image of a physical document page and executes the OCR algorithm to convert the image into text. The processor identifies errors in the text, which are associated with noise in the image. The processor generates a feature vector that includes features obtained by executing the NLP algorithm on the text, and features associated with the identified errors in the text. The processor uses the feature vector to assign the image to a document category. Documents assigned to the document category share one or more characteristics, and the feature vector is associated with a probability greater than a threshold that the physical document associated with the image includes those characteristics. The processor then stores the image in a database as a page of an electronic document belonging to the assigned document category.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a symbol analysis device included in a facility floor plan can perform the operations of: acquiring a plurality of facility floor plans; detecting a rectangle included in each of the plurality of facility floor plans and an arc connected to the rectangle; specifying a window area and a door area on the basis of the rectangle and the arc; labeling pixels of the specified window area as the class of a window, and labeling pixels of the specified door area as the class of a door; and inputting the plurality of facility floor plans and data labeled in pixel units into a neural network model designed on the basis of a predetermined image segmentation algorithm, so as to learn the weight of the neural network model that derives the correlation between positions of the labeled pixels and the classes of windows and doors included in the plurality of facility floor plans, and thus a neural network model that determines the position and the class of windows and doors included in a facility floor plan is generated on the basis of the correlation.

A method and system is provided for determining the denomination and related data for a currency item using a personal computing device, such as a mobile phone. The device includes or is connected to an image capture device that is preferably a digital video camera. At least one image of a target currency item is captured then processed for image quality. A further processing of the image includes a coordinate mapping. A comparison is made between individual pixels of the processed image based on the assigned coordinate mapping with a database of reference currency images to determine the currency denomination. Additional processing of the currency image provides the date and other data regarding the target currency item. A market value for the target currency item is identified by reference to a valuation database using the data determined for the currency item.

The method further includes determining whether an operating time of the ADV operating in autonomous driving (AD) mode is within the performance limit detection window associated with the first sensor. The method further includes in response to determining that the operating time of the ADV operating in AD mode is within the performance limit detection window of the first sensor, adjusting a zone associated risk of the coverage zone to a performance risk of a second sensor.
