In aspects, the present invention discloses a method of configuring devices of a control system in a plant using a configuration server. The method comprises importing an engineering graphic object, detecting a plurality of textual elements and graphic elements, identifying a set of textual elements and a set of graphic elements as legends, associating the set of graphic elements with corresponding textual elements and the set of textual elements with a corresponding graphic elements, updating a symbol vocabulary and a device label vocabulary using the set of graphic elements and the set of textual elements, associating one or more graphic elements and one or more textual elements from the plurality of graphic elements and the plurality of textual elements with corresponding devices, determining control information of a device based on the associated graphic elements and associated textual elements, and generating a plurality of engineering artifacts based on the control information.

A system includes a storage unit, a generation unit, a comparison unit, a determination unit, and an execution unit. The storage unit stores coordinates of regions included in a document and identification information of the regions. The generation unit generates regions to be subjected to character recognition in a newly-received document. The comparison unit compares the generated regions coordinates and the stored regions coordinates. The determination unit determines identification information corresponding to the generated regions coordinates according to the identification information corresponding to the regions stored in the storage unit and a comparison result of the comparison unit. The execution unit specifies a script for inputting, to an application, text information obtained by the character recognition performed on the generated regions in accordance with the determined identification information and executes the specified script. The storage unit stores the generated regions coordinates and the determined identification information of the regions.

An image forming apparatus includes a controller. The controller includes a reading section, a character recognition section, a marking section, and a notification section. The reading section reads an image from a document on which an answer to a problem is entered and generates image information. The character recognition section performs character recognition processing on the image information, and generates text data corresponding to the answer. The marking section marks the answer on the basis of the text data. When the text data cannot be generated through the character recognition processing, the notification section notifies a smartphone that the answer cannot be marked.

Provided is a method of collecting and managing information relating to medical diagnostic procedures which includes collecting objective information about a plurality of procedures and subjective information about the results of those procedures. The objective information provides information about the parameters of the procedure and the patient who underwent the procedure while the subjective information includes an assessment of the quality of the results of the procedure. This information can be stored in a database. The database can be accessed and the information therein used in connection with understanding the results of past procedures and planning for future procedures.

A print data semantic analysis system may comprise a print data handler and a database. The print data handler may include a semantic analyzer and a computer. The semantic analyzer may include a semantic identifier and a semantic operator. The database may be a function table containing function(s) incorporating the semantic pattern(s), rule(s), and/or semantic category or categories.

In a case where a position of a recognized cell is shifted from a position of a ruled line of an actual cell, if the recognized cell is deleted, a part of the ruled line of the actual cell is deleted. According to an aspect of the present invention, straight lines are detected from regions around four sides constituting the recognized cell, and an inside of a region surrounded by the detected straight lines is deleted.

An embodiment provides a method, including: capturing, using an image capture device of an electronic device, image data of a document; processing, using a processor, the image data; the processing including identifying text within the image data to form two or more images into a composite document of the document; and storing, in a memory, data related to the composite document. For the determination of an image series from a set of a number of image series, in each case of a signature is compiled for each of the number of image series. This signature is formed from a set of attributes of the respective image series. A signature from the signatures for the image series is ascertained that is most similar to a prespecified signature set. An action is performed with the image series whose signature was ascertained as the most similar signature.
