To provide an imaging apparatus including an image processor that processes a fingerprint portion or the like that can be used for at least biometrics authentication of image data based on a digital imaging signal output from an image sensor into an unverifiable state with a template for biometrics authentication.

Warning system, warning method, and computer program product

A warning system according to an embodiment includes an acquisition unit, an analysis unit, and a calculation unit. The acquisition unit acquires, from first sensor data including information on a target, condition information on the target. The analysis unit analyzes, from second sensor data including information on a region, current state information on an object included in the region and action prediction information on the object. The calculation unit calculates a degree of caution, based on the condition information on the target, the current state information on the object, and the action prediction information on the object.

A biometric authentication method is disclosed. Biometric information is acquired from a pair of portions at right and left of a body. Collation feature data are generated from the biometric information for right and left. Similarity feature data are generated for calculating a similarity between the biometric information for right and left. A similarity score between right and left is calculated by using the similarity feature data. The collation feature data for right and left and the similarity score are registered in a registration database. Collation scores for right and left are calculated by comparing the collation feature data in the registration database, and other collation feature data generated in an authentication. It is determined whether the authentication is successful, by using the collation scores, the similarity score in the registration database, and another similarity score generated in the authentication.

Apparatus and computer-implemented method for fingerprint based authentication

A computer-implemented method of performing fingerprint based authentication from matching local features represented by binary features which can be matched in an efficient implementation in one or both of software and hardware by computing Hamming distances between the binary features. A local feature in a verification image is said to be matching with a local feature in an enrolment image if the Hamming distance between the binary features falls below a pre-determined threshold. The computer-implemented method retains information about the similarity of local features in the two images and utilities it in an efficient way with the objective of improving fingerprint recognition rates and enabling finger liveness detection. In an aspect a normalized feature similarity distribution is generated as part of the representation in recognition and liveness detection.

Identity verification through a centralized biometric database

An apparatus includes a memory and a processor. The memory stores biometric data obtained from an account holder at a first location and identification information provided by the account holder that was used to open an existing account at the first location. The processor receives, from a device, data corresponding to an applicant that includes biometric data obtained from the applicant at a second location and identification information provided by the applicant at the second location. The applicant is requesting to open a new account using the identification information at the second location. In response to receiving the applicant's data, the processor determines that the applicant's biometric data matches the account holder's biometric data. The processor also determines that the applicant's identification information does not match the account holder's identification information. In response, the processor transmits an alert to the device indicating that the applicant's identity could not be verified.
