System and methods for contactless biometrics-based identification
The present invention relates generally to a system and methods that facilitates the identification of an individual through the use of data. Certain more particular embodiments of the present invention facilitate the contactless acquisition and processing of biometric data for identification purposes from a biometric source. One preferred embodiment of the present invention of the system includes an apparatus by which is sized and shape to capture of one or more images of an portion of individual for processing and identification purposes. Advantageously, certain embodiments of the present invention facilitate the enrollment of one or more individuals for verification and identification purposes through the use of the data developed from the one or more captured images.
Method for identifying fingerprint and electronic device thereof
A method for operating of an electronic device is provided. The method includes: sensing an input on an input device, detecting one axis direction of a fingerprint input or to be input to a fingerprint sensor, based on the sensed input, determining whether the one axis direction of the fingerprint is consistent with a reference direction of a reference fingerprint, when the one axis direction is not consistent with the reference direction, making the one axis direction consistent with the reference direction, and determining whether the fingerprint is consistent with the reference fingerprint.
Secure, remote biometric enrollment
Devices, systems, and methods facilitate enrollment of authenticating biometric data for authenticating an authorized user via a biometric sensor. A data input device and a power source are operatively coupled to a smart card including a fingerprint sensor. An activation code input by the user interacting with the data input device is compared with a predefined activation code, and if the detected activation code matches the predefined activation code, a fingerprint template is enrolled from fingerprint data received from the fingerprint sensor, all without transmitting data from either the power source or the data input device to any device other than the smart card.
Finger guide device
A finger guide device that positions a finger (or minutiae containing digit) of a human subject on a fingerprint sensor in a manner optimal for the data capture operation of authentication or identification of said subject wherein a relevant portion of the finger is in alignment with a sensor or scanner. The finger guide device may also be used for enrollment of the initial fingerprint data into the system. The device may contain an outer surface ridge which feels somewhat uncomfortable due to application of a high pressure per square inch on small areas of the finger when the finger is incorrectly positioned to encourage correct placement of the finger. The finger guide device may have a curved inside surface to contour to a wide variety of fingertip shapes and sizes, wherein the sides and front have shorter radii of curvature than the rearward portion of the finger guide device.
ENROLMENT DEVICE FOR A BIOMETRIC SMART CARD
The application provides an enrolment card for a biometric card with a first card body. The enrolment card includes a battery for providing electrical power, a microcontroller unit that is electrically connected to the battery, and a plurality of contact pins that are electrically connected to the battery and to the microcontroller unit. The enrolment card further includes a second card body with a card engagement element. The second card body is sized to correspond to the first card body. The battery and the second microcontroller unit are embedded in the second card body. The enrolment card provides an enrolment mode, wherein the card engagement element engages with the first card body for allowing the contact pins to contact corresponding contact pads of the biometric card and the battery provides the electrical power to the biometric card.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION
The present teaching relates to user authentication. Upon a light sensitive sensor detects a motion, an infrared or near infrared sensor may be activated for capturing an image of a body part of a person appearing nearby. The body part may be positioned in a contactless manner with respect to the infrared or near infrared sensor. The image of the body part may be acquired via the infrared or near infrared sensor. Via processing of the image, it may be determined whether the body part being imaged represents an anticipated body part for authentication. If the body part being imaged is determined to be an anticipated body part for authentication, biometric features of the body part may be extracted from the image. Via the extracted biometric features of the body part, it may be verified whether the person corresponds to one of one or more authorized users previously registered.
SWITCH DEVICE
A switch device includes an operation button including an operation surface on which a push operation is performed, a guide recess portion that has an elongated shape surrounded by inclined surfaces and is provided on the operation surface to guide an operating finger, and a biometric information sensor including a reading surface for reading biometric information of the operating finger in contact therewith. The reading surface is exposed situated nearer an end surface of the guide recess portion in relation to a longitudinal center of the guide recess portion.
Electronic device using a fingerprint sensor included in a display of the electronic device and controlling method thereof
Provided is an electronic device. The electronic device may detect a first input on a designated region of a display, obtain fingerprint information corresponding to the first input using the fingerprint sensor, display, on the display, an object related to an application based on obtaining the fingerprint information, detect a second input generated by dragging from the designated region to a region corresponding to the displayed object while the first input is maintained, execute an application related to the object selected by the second input, and perform authentication related to the application based on the fingerprint information.
Hand biometrics system and method using digital fingerprints
Hand biometric systems and methods use digital fingerprints generated from images of at least a portion of hand. These systems and methods may perform various digital fingerprint related processes including induction (acquiring of the hand biometric data, generation of a digital fingerprint and storing in a database) and authentication (a process of using the digital fingerprint of the hand to perform biometrics which are known processes that may be performed using digital fingerprints, and may even be control anonymous access to controlled areas or vehicle. The hand biometric system and method combines these processes with a particular set of hardware to perform the hand biometrics process that is novel and provides benefits and capabilities not achievable by other existing biometric systems and methods.
FACE LIVENESS DETECTION METHOD AND RELATED APPARATUS
A face liveness detection method is performed by an electronic device. The method includes: obtaining an initial face image of an object and a face image set of the object captured at N different illumination directions; obtaining N difference images according to the initial face image and the N face images in the face image set; generating a normal map and an albedo map according to the N difference images and the N illumination directions; and determining a face liveness detection result according to the N difference images, the normal map, and the albedo map, the face liveness detection result indicating whether the object has a live face or not. In this application, three-dimensional (3D) geometric information and surface material information of a face image are considered, thereby recognizing the authenticity of the face image, and effectively resisting different face liveness attack manners.
