METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MOBILE DEVICES TO COMMUNICATE WITH SHIPPING PERIPHERAL DEVICES USING DISTRIBUTED INSTANCES OF CUSTOM HARDWARE
A system and method for mobile devices that do not have hardware interfaces to be able to control shipping peripheral devices that are not connected directly thereto are provided. Intermediary hardware devices are utilized that are connected to a local area network. A first device communicates with the user's mobile device using very-short range communication protocols. A second device has the peripheral devices directly coupled thereto, and includes preinstalled drivers and application software for the peripheral devices. The devices allow the mobile device and peripheral devices to communicate with each other over the local area network. Thus, the mobile device can be used to control the peripheral devices even though the peripheral devices are not directly connected to the mobile device.
Secure on-line ticketing
A method and apparatus for generating a Value Bearing Indicium (VBI) for on-line ticketing applications. A VBI may be generated by hashing user information to create a message digest that is used to create a digital signature. The digital signature is combined with the user information to create a VBI that can be validated by a variety of stand-alone or on-line methods. An on-line ticketing application using the VBI is described.
POSTAGE STAMP ISSUING SYSTEM USING A STAMP CARD AND ITS EMBODIMENT METHOD
In an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the stamp issuing method using a stamp card comprises these steps: offer a sales procedure by stamp card type and issue stamp cards through the procedure; receive purchase request signals from a user terminal, offer a procedure to select mail options and decide a payment method according to the information and service type chosen by the user through the procedure; offer a payment procedure depending on whether pre-payment or post-payment or a procedure to print a postal registration certificate; and offer a procedure to issue a stamp or print out an FDC after the postage is payed through the procedure.
COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND COMPUTER METHODS FOR AUTOMATED ON-DEMAND CUSTOMIZABLE ASSEMBLING AND HIGH THROUGHPUT PRINTING OF DOCUMENTS
In some embodiments, the instant invention provides for a computer-implemented method that includes at least the following steps of: periodically receiving investment transactional data identifying investment transactions of a plurality of investors; automatically determining, based on the investment transactional data, a document to be mailed to each investor of the plurality of investors; automatically generating a delivery data for each mailing to be mailed to each investor of the plurality of investors, where the delivery data includes: bucslip data or trade confirmation data, assembling data, and unique production control bar code data generated based on the assembling data and an investment transaction identifier from the investment transactional data; and printing a unique production control bar code based on the unique production control bar code data, where the unique production control bar code is configured to be used for: assembling each mailing envelope, and tracking such mailing envelope.
Assemblies, systems, and methods for franking one or more sequential mailpiece on a high speed mail sorter
Assemblies, systems, and methods for applying postage indicia to one or more sequential mailpiece on a high speed mail sorter are disclosed. In some aspects, a system for franking one or more sequential mailpiece using a postal security device (PSD) hub assembly on a high speed mail sorter includes a plurality of PSDs configured to generate a coded digital signature for the one or more sequential mailpiece during a latency period, a plurality of photo sensors configured to define the latency period, a PSD host configured to receive the generated coded digital signature, wherein the generated coded digital signature is encoded in a data matrix, and an indicia printer configured to receive printer control data and to print the printer control data on the one or more sequential mailpiece in an order in which the plurality of PSDs are tasked during the latency period.
Digital stamps
Systems, methods, interface devices, and media for the delivery of physical items using a digital stamp. Various implementations include operations such as receiving a request from a user to deliver an item to a destination using a digital stamp, wherein the item includes destination information and lacks any physical indicator that the delivery fee for the item has been paid or will be paid; receiving a destination address from the user; presenting a delivery fee for the item; and causing the generation of a digital stamp using the destination address and the delivery fee, which may be correlated with the item.
Custom printing of bulk mailing
Methods, computer systems, and memory media for preparing instructions for printing a plurality of postage items. A graphical user interface (GUI) receives first user input. Responsive to the user input, an addressee data file is uploaded, features are extracted from a plurality of columns of the addressee data file, and the plurality of columns are associated with respective address field types based on the extracted features. The GUI displays an indication of the association between columns and address field types. User input may modify or correct the association. Responsive to second user input, instructions are prepared for printing entries from the columns of the addressee data file on respective postage items of the plurality of postage items as respective address fields, and the instructions are stored in a non-transitory computer-readable memory medium.
